wayupnorth 1 Posted August 7, 2009 I just ate my first pureed meal. I took salmon and chopped it up and fine and chewed and chewed .Oh I am having such stomach pain. Could anyone give me some advise?
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted August 8, 2009 Did you eat too much? When I was first starting out, a couple of bites is all I could handle.
Malaika 50 Posted August 8, 2009 GAS-X and a heating pad maybe? I am so sorry you're in pain ... maybe you over ate?
Ruthi 60 Posted August 8, 2009 how long ago did you eat and how much. Your first pureed meal was a bit hard to digest. Try something lighter next time and work your way up
MacMadame 81 Posted August 8, 2009 I thought for it to be pureed, it's supposed to be actually blended - like in a blender. Maybe chopping it up wasn't enough? (The programs are all different on this one though so maybe your program allows chopped up stuff as a puree?)
wayupnorth 1 Posted August 8, 2009 Thanks everyone for the information.
*susan* 1,709 Posted August 9, 2009 Did your belly get to feeling better?
wayupnorth 1 Posted August 9, 2009 It is my lower gut area on the left side. It will just not go away. But is not like it was.
*susan* 1,709 Posted August 9, 2009 Have you contacted a doctor?
Malaika 50 Posted August 9, 2009 Is that where the appendix is located? Lower left side?
*susan* 1,709 Posted August 9, 2009 I thought if you were having appendix problems, the pain was in the lower right side?
Malaika 50 Posted August 10, 2009 Well obviously I have no idea where your appendix is located then ... *shrugs* ... was just a thought .. a bad one I guess - :crying:
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted August 10, 2009 Yea, I had my appendix out and it's the lower right side. Some people have to go through the food stages slower as their body heals slower.
tandy1316 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Hi I agree with MacMadame. Your first stage is food that has been blended in a blended. Remember what it is like to wean a baby. The first stages is like a thick liquid, then you can move onto small lumps by around week 5ish. I too have a pain in my lower left side a lot...maybe it is the excess gases from the op still there? Doc told me not to worry and things would die down after a bit. Remember you have just been through a huge ordeal! Hope this helps
LindaR 0 Posted August 17, 2009 This info. helps me too. I'm new to this blog today. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I think I am going to have to slow down on the transition to solids. I think I kinda skipped the 'mushies' stage and tried to eat things that are a little too hard on my 'new' stomach. Still lot's of gas and pain, so this makes sense...
