Just wanted to say hi. My name is Paul and I had sleeve surgery on July 28. I couldn't be happier. No pain, no nausea, no vomiting. Also down about ten pounds since the surgery.

Haven't found many men who've had the sleeve. It will be nice to have someone to talk to.

Hey Sam!!

I had sleeve surgery on the 11th of July. 255 at time of sleeve and I weight 231 today 8/6.

Not bad....

Welcome to the board! We have a man room also, the ladies like coming in and looking around and that is fine with us. (more to choose from) VegasAngel is my fianc? and she had the sleeve 3 weeks before me.

Just wanted to say HEY and if you need anything ask! Great bunch in here for the most part.

Ok, I confess! I'm a lady here in the "men's room!":blushing: Yes, I think there are probably more ladies overall who have had weight loss surgery than men. My husband had his sleeve done the same day you did, Paul. I'll see if I can get him to come in here and post!

When this forum first started back in May (and before that on LBT - there was a VSG section) - Jaffa Steve was the ONLY man who posted ... so I'm sure he's happy to see more and more men come on board so he doesn't have to sit in the men's room all by himself!

Thanks everyone! KayKay, how's your husband doing? I was 345 at my highest (March 2009). Weighed 314 the day of the sleeve (July 28) just broke the 300 mark yesterday:blush: It didn't seem like it was ever going to happen. I meet with my surgeon for the first time tomorrow.

Well, here I am back in the "men's room!":blushing: My husband is down about 23 or so since first seeing his surgeon, but only about 3 since the surgery. We saw his surgeon yesterday. I think this is because after his surgery they took him off these heavy duty diuretics he had to take daily before. So he is retaining some Water and they know it. But they still didn't want him back on the diuretics yet because apparently, they are concerned about him getting too dehydrated in this early stage. Congrats on your big loss this week.

Hey there, my vsg is on august 25th in Dallas. I've got mixed feelings really. All in all I am pretty excited about the prospect of having a physical block on food that will force me in the right direction.

Don...good luck with you surgery on the 25th. Please report back and tell me how things are going. Like I said earlier, I couldn't be happier. I had a boil under my arm last week and that thing hurt more the VSG surgery (by far). I am completly convinced that I had the right proceedure and I know your mixed feelings will be gone after the operation.

Hey guys, had the operation on sept. 3rd and everything is going great. Lost about 40lbs so far.
Hey, sorry to bother you boys, but I was curious about who did your surgery, CajunBobby! I had mine in Lafayette. Dr. Cunningham.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
