John was able to email yesterday. All is well there, comm was down due to a sandstorm. YAY YAY thank you all for the support and encouragement. We don't have much longer to go until his return. I think I'm getting antsy.

Helen - I hope you start feeling better. I know how exhausting it is feeling sick, or just not being close to 100%. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Judy- I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers.

I was really sick today. I don't know what was wrong. I went to pick up some meds at the vet for my dog and started feeling sick. I had to pull the car over 4 times cause everything was spinning and I opened up the car door and dry heaved

each time. When I tried to walk from the car into the house, I fell down. I went to bed and put a cold wash cloth on my head and slept for 3 hours.

I feel fine now. It's just so strange.

Bearded, hardly anyone can eat bread. Try crackers instead. You have to remember your stomach is the size of your middle finger. You know, the one you feel like putting up when you think of how much the sleeve is annoying you!

You didn't accidently take the dogs meds did you?

I finished all my bugs at work! Now I get to go sit at the DMV for hours to get my license renewed.

Thanks for the prayers.

I really have to get this weight off. I am so tired when I get home, I just take a shower and lay down for a couple of hours. All my kindergarters are so needy this year. It takes all my energy to get through the day. Is it Friday yet?

Daisy, how are you feeling today? Did you go to the Dr.?

I went to the dr. and he gave me more sleep meds and scheduled a complete physical in a month. He thinks I am nauseous because I hardly sleep. I doubt if that is what is causing the nausea, but I am all for getting enough meds so I can sleep through the night.

If I am still nauseous in a couple days, I am going to ask for nausea medication.

I hope the sleep meds work Daisy.

Today was not a good day. I was hurting, and nothing tasted good nor sounded good today. I need a mental health day, just a break from everything.

It could be because you're not sleeping - if I get overtired, I get very sick to my stomach -- my youngest son is the same way. Hopefully the meds will help you sleep and the nausea will go away.

I agree, lack of sleep can cause a lot of physical side effects that we may not even associate with it. I hope they are able to help you out Daisy!

Dr. Campos called me today while I was in Walmart of all places. He was nice enough to hold on while I went outside cause I could not hear him in there or get good reception.

He told me to drink SF gatoraide, get some dramamine (SP?) and go to the dr. to see if I have an ear infection. He said ear infections cause nausea. I don't have any symptoms of an ear infection. I think it is sleeve related because I was fine all day and just now I ate some ground turkey meatballs and now I feel very nauseous.

I did buy some SF Gatoraide, but I seriously doubt if I have an ear infection.

Daisy, I'm sorry that you are feeling bad. Have you tried just clears for a few days? Hope you feel better soon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
