Barb 0 Posted May 21, 2006 I just wanted to share the fact that my insurance had an exclusion for any type of weight loss surgery. The do allow exceptions but I didn;t try I paid cash for the surgery and expected to pay for all the fills and after care too. After my first fill I received a refund check. When I went in for the second fill I only had to pay my $25 co-pay. I was told that my insurance would pay for my aftercare (including fills), and all I would need to do is pay my co-pay. So make sure you ask and provide your insurance information. It may save you soem money.
msbug 0 Posted May 21, 2006 :clap2: That is very good to hear! My insurance does pay for wls but only after you've been enrolled in the program for 2 years and if you have at least 2 co-morbidities. I've only been with them since Jan and have no co-morbidities, so I'm not even trying to get it approved and will self-pay. However, I'm really hoping they will cover the fills after. Thanks to you I know that some insurance companies do this!
legallyKristin 0 Posted May 23, 2006 Barb, if you don't mind...what kind of insurance do you have? BCBS TX also has that exclusion, so maybe that will help me. Kristin
