That is very exciting! I just got my date on Monday, but it's not as soon as yours. It seems like forever since I first thought about getting surgery back in April, through all the research, appointments, tests, various other hoops to jump through... I finally have a date: August 11. I can totally relate to how excited you are. Congrats!

Penny, yay, I am so excited for you. That is fabulous news! My husband says to high-five your hubby for getting lucky tonight. But, now he is giving me that look as well, sheesh.

WhiteRice, welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your date as well!

Welcome WhiteRice! I started researching and wanting to have this surgery over a year ago, but finally talked my husband into it just about 7 weeks ago.

I'm very blessed that he loves me just as I am, but I want to have more energy and be able to do more things than I am able to do right now.

You will get tons of information from the people here.. so again, welcome and good luck on your surgery.

Hugz

Penny~

Congratulations, Penny! I know exactly how you feel...I researched WLS for years before being able to have it done. Once the date was set, it finally felt real! Good luck with your surgery! You're gonna love Dr. Aceves & his staff! :thumbup1:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
