Guest neworleanslady@LBT Posted January 30, 2009 Uh oh! I am not having any preop testing done at all. My internist said I am young (36) and besides the weight healthy so I won't need anything besides labs. Should I be concerned? __________________ Originally posted at www.lapbandtalk.com
Guest MacMadame@LBT Posted January 31, 2009 I think everyone should have labs. How do you know if you are trending down in something, if you have no baselines? You don't want to wait until you are out of range to address problems. It's easier to come back if you haven't totally tanked. Because of my pre-op labs, I started supplementing with Vitamin D, for example. __________________ Originally posted at www.lapbandtalk.com
Guest MichC@LBT Posted January 31, 2009 Hi Thanks for the info - amnot really sure what to expect and probably wont know until I turn up in Belgium. How long ago did you have your surgery? How did you find the weeks post op? I have a holiday in Vegas four weeks after my op which I have to say I am not really looking forward to now, apart from being in a pair of jeans that might not cut me in two. Guest MacMadame@LBT Posted January 31, 2009 I'm 4 months out. At 7 weeks out, I started regular food and went to Vegas the next day. Um, the food part was frustrating. Still frustrating about 2 weeks later at Thanksgiving. But by Christmas, it was all good. I think it was at about 12 weeks where I was okay with the amounts I could eat and didn't feel frustrated. Before that I could eat so little. __________________ Originally posted at www.lapbandtalk.com
