Oh yea, got side-tracked by the 11.5 ccs. :) I have not been over tight yet, but my best guess would be that yes - you sound too tight to me. Does your doc have you drinka cup of Water after your fill?

i have a 14cc band,

i havent told the doctor yet, but he did the fill under the machine and measured how much barium went through the band this time, and said this is the correct adjustment. i just do not know if this is normal or not, i also didnt know if it was because i just recently had the band filled

Bandman, I would get a tiny bit out for relief. If you can't drink without discomfort, that a signal in my book. With a little relief, you can eat the healthy foods that you need.

Good luck. Shawn

if you can not drink without pain how will you be able to eat without pain?? You are too tight my friend, having as little as .2 cc's removed will make a huge difference in being able to eat anddrink without discomfort but still allow you to have good restriction and lose weight. Be a smart bandster..too tight can result in many different things happening. Longevity of your band and your health is most important...weight loss will come.

Hi, I am newly banded by a doctor in Houston. I have done fine but I was looking for a doctor closer to my home. (Rockport, Tex.) Do you like your doctor and do you think he will do fills if another doctor did the surgery. It looks like you are doing great.......

I was banded on March 31, 2006 and have only lost 12 pounds. On Friday I got 1.6 cc in my 10cc band and I am very tight. this is all so new to me that I don't know what to expect but everything is fine when I eat except the "last bite" hurts so much....How do you know when it is time to NOT take that "last bite". Thanks for listening....Pam

hey there bandman, i am to tight as well and am scheduling an unfill tommorrow AM. the reason....

in the AM it hurts to drink. the pain goes away after the first hour but STILL i know i am to tight. i havent been able to eat ANYTHING (but 2 protien shakes) till 5-6 pm and then i can have solids (slowly)

if you are having pain the whole time and it doesnt ease up i would DEFINTALLY ask for a small unfill. you shouldnt be in pain from the band (CERTANLY not with liquids) and you should be able to eat 2 solid meals a day.

let us know what you do and how your feeling. to me i would rather be to LOOSE that to tight ANY DAY!!! i have been so tight that i had to spit my own saliva cause even that wouldnt go down.

Hey Bandman, I got my first fill last Wednesday and immediately I wasn't able to drink little sips without burping. It was so uncomfortable that it scared me, it just wouldn't go down so my Dr. took some out. At first I thought he completely emptied it but here it is 5 days later and I am only able to have a couple of Protein shakes and some creamy Soups like patoto. I'm losing just like I did in the beginning. So, yeah, have your Dr. take some out. Hang in there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
