Love this site ... BUT

I HATE the fact that everytime you type band or lapband that it hypertexes and if you're mouse accidently rests on it you get "information" -- frustrates the heck out of me.

Is there a way to turn that off?

Is it really necessary for it to hypertext -- I mean, come on, doesn't everyone on this site know what the sleeve is or know about the sleeve?

Does this bother anyone else or am I just being overly picky?

I don't like that at the top of the chat screen, you can jump between rooms that are the sleeve room or the band room.

We've had bansters coming in doing that "our surgery is better" routine. My opinion is that if you're researching and trying to decide which surgery to get that's one thing. But if you love your band , don't come into the sleeve chat room to say we're nuts to have part of our stomach removed.

I think it should be the way it was before. The band people would have to sign out of LBT and log on here to get in our chat room, and not be able to go between the two.

I think the hypertext is part of some sort of ad system and Alex gets money if people click on the links. Those servers do need to fed. :lol0:

Yes, that's true - you've got a good point -- we do need the site to be fed so it doesn't go belly up ... *sigh* okay fine, I'll just be more careful and not let my little point fall on the hyperlink.

*head down ... shuffling out of here now *:lol0:

No, he doesn't make any money for clicking, it goes to his own forums. ;o)

It was my idea, I get the blame. I wanted him to put links on the band forum to the sleeve forum. So many newbies looking at the band do not even know the sleeve exists. I asked him if there was a way that if someone brought up key words in the band forum such as sleeve, VSG, etc., that it would provide a link to OUR forum. Little did I know he'd do links to the band forum over here. HA! It was supposed to be on the BAND forum.

But you know... if it prevents people from getting banded because they do not know the sleeve exists until after surgery, it's kinda worth it.

Do the chat rooms have to be linked together as well? Can't we have it so if they want to come into the sleeve chat room, they have to log out of the lap band talk and log into our chat room?

I just emailed Alex, I will let you know what he says. I'm not a software person, I have no clue. Sorry! But I will find out!

Which have ads on them so it's indirectly making money to encourage clicking between the various forums. :lol0:

But that isn't what you wrote, he is not paid per click. It's just to let people know the forums exist, that's all.

Didn't mean to start a debate, was simply ranting that I find it irritating :lol0:

Don't worry, we're not really debating.... just being anal about wording. :lol0:

Very true, Mac and I do this all the time. It is in fun, honest.

BTW Mac, I received the box yesterday! THANK YOU! The only question I have is... what are the little chocolate looking round things? There are two of them, I have no idea what they are?

I'll send yours out on Monday. I have all kinds of stuff for you. I have a large bottle of Flax Seed Oil, unopened, do you want it? I do not.

Actually, I'll send you a list of what is in there and tell me if there is anything else you think you might want that I've discussed before.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
