I use to be just like you thin and fine hair. My hairdresser said today--oh I just love your curl in your hair. If you have had thin and fine hair for over 60 years and all of a sudden it is curly and crazy--you have to learn how to fix it. I have been having it cut to even it up--but honestly I have a cute wig that I am wearing. I just wondered if any had curly hair after their hair fell out?

Take care,

Suzanne

I'd love curly hair! Mine is fine and thin and I have been losing more of it the past 3 weeks or so. When did yours stop falling out and did it come back thicker AND curly?

My hair started to fall out about 3 months after my surgery and lasted for a good month I lost quite a bit of hair during that month. I used a Shampoo and Cream Rinse call Nioxin. You can find it on line or check some of your local Hair Salons. After using it for a week, my hair stopped falling out. I really noticed it coming back in about 6 months after the surgery. It is thicker, but I think that it has to do with being curly.

When did your hair start falling out? I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and that hasn't happened -- and I hope it doesn't. I have really thick hair; however, I just had my hairdresser thin the heck out of it so I won't get so hot this summer.

Not everyone has their hair come out. I think about 3 months after the surgery, then it lasted for about a month until I started using Nioxin Shampoo and Cream Rise. Within a week of using it, the hair stopped coming out. I can't say for sure if that is what stopped it, but my scap is so health now and my hair feels good. I lost my hair for almost a month before I found this shampoo. At about 6 month out, that is when I started to notice my hair was curly that was coming back in. I have always had thin and straight hair.

Suzanne came to visit me in the hospital in Mexicali!

I returned your email but then I didn't hear back from you.

My hair is already starting to fall out. I am freaked out.

I am sorry, I do remember you. Try some Nixoin Shampoo and Cream Rise. That made a world of difference to me. Within a week, my hair stopped falling out. I am not sure if it was the shampoo that stopped it, or it was just tired of falling out. Now it is curly and short.

I will try to stay in touch!

Take care,

Suzanne:thumbup:

I've been using the Nioxin Shampoo line since before surgery. The scalp treatment is hard to use. It's like Water so it's hard to get it on all over. I like the shampoo and conditioner though. I am not sure if it's helping.

I truly hope mine doesn't fall out -- I haven't noticed any more hair in my brush than before the surgery.

My hair, as I get older, has gotten curlier ... the last time I got it styled, my gal said "Where is all this curl coming from?" I like a bit of curl as my hair is very straight and very thick. She has to texturize it everytime she cuts it so I don't look like I stuck my finger in a light socket.

I would take advantage of the curl -- just put a bit of moose in your hair, scrunch it with your fingers and let it air dry ... later if you want, you can pic it out a bit.

I HATE messing with my hair so for me, the easier the better. The style I have now is pretty much wash and wear which suits me to a T!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
