I had the sleeve on Oct. 29, 2008. I am down 117 lbs. Still losing. I am glad I had the surgery I feel so much better. Everyone always makes comments and says I look and act like a different person. Its nice to hear it.

I havent found it hard to work on the weight loss. The doctor told me that I should get about 1000-1200 calories a day, but Im lucky if I get 800-900. I dont really have any foods that I like in particular. I just try to get my Protein in. I can never do it with just food so in the morning I have a sugarfree carnation instant Breakfast with Unjury mixed in.

I am going to look for that carnation instant breakfast. I still have a lot of unflavored Protein mix left over.

It's GNC unflavored whey Protein. It has no taste. I had my daughter who has a nose like a blood hound stick her nose in the container and she said it has no smell.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
