Ziploc Omelettes

Recommended Posts

I told my Mother about this and she told me at the Girl Scout camping trip they just went on did this! They cooked 50 omelets at one time!

Anyhow I tried it out and My family thought they tasted great!

We put mushroom and shredded cheese in them. The cheese gave it a nice sorta buttery taste, the only thing I added after it was on my plate was pepper. Oh and reg omelets make me Ill so I was very nervous about doing this but I ate 1/2 the omelet before I was FULL not SICK, eggs normally make me sick for some reason.

They also stayed with me a long time I was full for hours lol

Okies just sharing :)

:bump: :bump: :bump: :bump: :bump:

My mom came into town yesterday, and omlettes are her fave Breakfast. I knew that with the kids, a quick Breakfast that is fun was in order!!

We made these this morning and they were FABULOUS!! We used the Glad double zip freezer bags, which are made to also go in boiling Water and in the microwave, and they turned out perfect!! I grated some cheese, chopped up a red, green and yellow bell pepper, and some on the vine tomatoes, and my egg I made with 3 egg whites, and one yolk from one of the eggs. It was so yummy!! And my mother thought it was a fabulous quick and no mess way of making an omlette.

And we used paper plates, so in the end we had no dishes except for the forks! The potof Water was dumped out and set out to dry.

I'm with DonnaB, the convenience/novelty is not worth the melted plastic in my food. (insert *wonh WONH* the debbie downer trombone). Although using a non-stick pan isn't much better. And how about some deadly margarine?

haha - seriously, skip the baggies, peeps. I want all you lovely ladies to be around a long time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
