Hi all

I will have been sleeved 1 year on July 28th. I am really happy with my weight lose so far. I have a very bad back so it is difficult for me to exercise alot. I do ride a recumbant stationary bike when I can. I have lost 75# so far. I find that it was easy to asjust to my sleeve. The only

time that I miss my old stomach is when we have family get togethers.

I just recently had surgery to remove one of my overies that was causing a lot of pain, so I could not ride my bike for awhile. My weight lose just stopped since then. I can't weight to heal from that surgery so that I can get back on my bike.

I am not going to hit my goal of loosing 100# buy my first anniversary:sad0:.

Just wanted to introduce myself

I love my sleeve:smile1:

Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on your weight loss. Are your back problems improved at all since you lost so much weight?

I know what you mean about missing your stomach at specific occasions. For me it isn't special times but instead, restaurants. There are times I would like to try a bit of each course but I know it's not going to happen. I misjudge how much I can eat of each course and then by the time the main entree gets there I'm stuffed!

I know you wanted to lose 100# by the one year mark but 75# sure isn't shabby! Especially since we do not malabsorb.

No my back problem was caused in a car accident years ago. They thought that with my weight gone my back would get better. (it has gotten worse). Although some of it might be that I am more active then i use to be. We will see what happens.

Welcome! I know what you mean about barriers to exercising. I'll be having 2 knee replacements in Sept a week apart and am trying to lose as much weight as I can by that time. I dread the surgery but look forward to the "after" when I can do exercises without limitations.

Both my parents had their knees replaced and are doing fine. They are both very active at 86 and 89. My aunt on the other hand didn't do the

exercises like she should have and had problems with her knee.

So remember to do the exercises that they tell you to do.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
