carolnphx 16 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi, I'm Carol. I got my sleeve April 20th. Is there anyone else here that got their sleeve in April? It would be fun to have others of the same time period to go forward with.
ahchancey 0 Posted June 6, 2009 Hi my name is Angie. I got my sleeve 3/24/09. I am interested in swapping info about my experiences. I have lost 38 lbs. I am having problems keeping food and liquids down due to acid reflux and the sleeve being to narrow. My Dr. is considering putting in a stint to open it up some. Anyway look forward to hearing from you. :confused1:

carolnphx 16 Posted June 6, 2009 Wow, I'm excited. I just came to have a look and found both of you, Ahchancey and Lib here. That is super. Looks like all 3 of us have lost close to the same amount. I too have lost 38# and have been same for 3 days. I'm waiting for the wt drop that will be coming. Maybe tomorrow will be the day....ha Ahchancey, I am so sorry you are having problems with reflux. Does Doc have you on Nexium or equivalent? I haven't heard of having a stint put in for that. Keep us posted. Looking forward for us to get to know each other and share this "adventure", as I call it. :confused1: More later, carol
*Lib* 5 Posted June 6, 2009 I have had a pretty rough recovery. My first 3 weeks was great, then I started to feel sick all the time and vomit daily. Turns out the Dr didn't give me nexium, and the acid caused my stomach to become raw and inflamed. I spent a few days getting rehydrated in hospital and am now finally on my way back! I have lost 41lb so far, so that's been motivational!! :confused1:

Yes, isn't it fun to watch the number go down on the scale. I weigh every day but only record on Monday's. I can't wait. I have to look. My main issue is I don't like to exercise but I am trying to get diciplined into a routine. You are doing great and I'm glad you are getting better.
*Lib* 5 Posted June 6, 2009 Doing much better now. I have been able to eat for 3 days! The few weeks before that I couldn't eat or drink anything, was also a bit mental that was preventing it, but back on now, roll on bikini bodies!!!
ahchancey 0 Posted June 8, 2009 You guys are crazy!!! LOL! I had never heard of being splinted either, but he explained it to me that it was done the same way that someone who has a clogged artery has a balloon put in to allow the blood to flow. It is left in for a month or so and then removed, allowing time to stretch the opening. Doesnt sound fun. I will have to return to liquids. I am currently taking prevacid and zantax, but it only helps after the fact, not to prevent the attacks that i have.
