Elisabethsew 50 Posted June 8, 2009 Your operation will be in the abdominal cavity and the IUD is the pelvic cavity so you have nothing to worry about.
Eyfura 3 Posted June 8, 2009 LOL...I know that, I was talking about how it seems to mess with peoples TOM. I don't want that to all the sudden get messed up, especially since that is why I have the IUD.

Let's cross our fingers that it does not. ;o)
burnsun 27 Posted June 8, 2009 i know the whole first year of being banded......i had a period every 2-3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was making up for years of having one or two! My OB said it was a reaction to the estrogen loss from the fat cell. He told me this happens a lot in women and in almost all his pcos clients that had any type of bariatric surgery
MacMadame 81 Posted June 8, 2009 My first TOM after surgery was late, but then I was okay. Recently, I've been having breakthrough bleeding and I think my TOM is coming more often. But I don't keep track well enough to be sure. I guess I need to start paying attention.
Deanna_A 0 Posted June 11, 2009 Not sure if this is where I should post, but it's kinda related. My whole life, my TOM has come on the 5th of the month. It stopped during pregnancies, then picked right up in the same pattern. Got kind of wonky for about 6 months when I was 28, then back to the same old, same old. I had a partial (uterine) hysterectomy in 2001. After that, I never noticed any of the PMS-type symptoms (emotional, bloating, etc.) Last week, I actually gained 1.5 pounds, felt like sh*t (had that FAT feeling), and felt general malaise. Is it possible that losing the weight made my hormones kick it up a notch? Between Friday and Monday, I lost 4 pounds - that NEVER happens! And it's stayed off; in fact, I've lost two more this week so far. Feels like it used to when I bloated so bad just before the 5th, then when the actual TOM started it would go away. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm hoping this doesn't mean the Migraines will come back!
MacMadame 81 Posted June 11, 2009 Estrogen is stored in your fat. When you lose weight, it gets released into the blood stream and then (eventually) eliminated. So, yeah, your hormones are going nuts right now!

Deanna_A 0 Posted June 11, 2009 I knew about the fat storage thing. I think I just expected it before now. I don't know why; just not thinking it through, I guess. Makes sense that it's stored in ALL the fat, not just that top layer. Silly.
