Before and after photos....

Recommended Posts

I still have another 30-35 pounds to lose, but it's my most recent "before and after"

228 pounds lost (so far). The before pic was the day of my surgery 20 months ago. The after pic is my daughter and I both in the pants from the before pic.

That is AMAZING!!! You are such an inspiration!! How fast did your weight come off in the beginning? I am losing but some days I get discouraged and just want to cry. It's almost like I feel like i will be stuck at 190 for ever. But seeing before and after pictures like yours really helps motivate me and gives me hope and encouragement! :-) maybe one day i will be able to post some good before/after photos!

At the beginning it came off really fast- but when you're starting over 400 pounds the weight does come off a lot faster.

Now that I'm down into the 100's, I'm lucky to lose 5-8 pounds a month.

Don't ever give up. It just takes a lot longer the smaller you get.

I'm barely in the 100's but it is a good feeling, almost a relief! I have to keep reminding myself of how far I've come & not how much longer i have to go because I get frustrated! But I'm going to just keep swimming lol

How long do you have to go? The rest of your life, it's your journey, not a destination.

Trying to enjoy the journey, and not become stuck, that's my goal. The people here are here whenever I need to push past or be inspired. Grateful .

Yay for you! I can't wait to be in the 100s. I've got 20 pounds to go - but closer than I was 3 weeks ago when I had surgery weighing in at 240.

Missy - you look so good! That's how you can tell that this is hard work and you've done so good! And your daughter is a cutey pie ;)

Congrats to everyone ;)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
