Week 2 and not much restriction

Recommended Posts

Today has been interesting...woke up and didn't feel particularly hungry. But as the day has gone by I've been hungry and don't feel much restriction. Won't get my first fill until week 6 - good chance I'll gain weight at this point. Although I'm still trying not to eat much and making good choices...I'm disappointed. I guess that's part of the ride?? Praying to feel some restriction!!

Most of us did not feel any restriction or satiety till we had several fills. For me it was fill 3 that did the trick. I understand the need or the frustration of launching the rocket to your journey only to find it may take a few months? Someone may have told me about this phase before I was banded but I may have had my rose colored glasses on and thought I'd be the exception. It's all good now though.

Ha ha! I guess I will have to make really good decisions and keep up sugar busters so to speak. And get to moving! I am going to do everything in my power to NOT gain any weight and maybe even lose!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
