skinnyboundsky 32 Posted September 30, 2013 Was banded September 6th and all I want to do is go to the gym! I'm down 15 lbs but I can't imagine what I would be down if I went to the gym. Right now I walk lightly but I want to run and do squats. My surgeon says he would wait 6 weeks but only I know my body. Thoughts ?
catfish87 3,471 Posted September 30, 2013 I think if my doc said wait 6 weeks, I'd wait 6 weeks.... Walking during the mean time will certainly help. Why take a chace on injuring youself by trying to progress too soon? Just my suggestion. 4 I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡, sunnysidega, ☠carolinagirl☠ and 1 other reacted to this
ChicagoRose 650 Posted September 30, 2013 I was cleared to exercise after only two weeks...but you don't want to push it and hurt yourself so it's best to listen to your surgeon! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted September 30, 2013 If your surgeon says 6 weeks then it's 6 weeks. It would be foolish to go against his advice regardless of what anyone says or does.
kah1213 311 Posted October 1, 2013 Did he say you could walk? I was allowed to walk before getting the official clearance for the gym and full workouts.
ameyer30 132 Posted October 4, 2013 I was cleared at 2 weeks with the instructions for no weight training or ab work for 6 weeks and to start slow. I'd listen to your surgeon tho, walking can really help. I started walking one week post op 2 miles every night and dropped 19lbs in my 2 week postop period.
