koolnoor 5 Posted September 29, 2013 Hi everyone. About a week or so post op I started getting a single hiccup, sometimes up to three times a day and some days I don't get it at all. It's such an odd thing for me. It doesn't happen immediately after I have eaten, perhaps up to an hour after. I am currently 4 weeks post op and have started on solids. Any ever experienced this/ could shed some light please?

koolnoor 5 Posted September 29, 2013 Sorry about your painful hiccups Laneyb. Any idea why you get them?
koolnoor 5 Posted September 29, 2013 Sojourner I think that may be the reason why I get mine too. Perhaps I'm eating too quickly and the food is taking a while to go down? I'll be more careful from now on. Thnx 4 sharing
Luka Beth 78 Posted September 29, 2013 I had hiccups right after surgery also for about two months...and then randomly after that. Eventually they weren't so constant and now i i only get them when its time to stop eating add an indication to stop.
koolnoor 5 Posted September 29, 2013 Thnx Luka I hope mine stops too it worries me that my band might slip with the contraction during the hiccup
Sharpie 3,306 Posted September 30, 2013 I usually hiccup when I eat too fast..it's a reminder to slow down...
Laneyb_00 81 Posted September 30, 2013 The eating is not the cause of mine because it just randomly happens..they hurt because I'm still sore from surgery...unless it's the pain meds causing them..loratab used to make me hiccup but I'm on a different kind of pain medicine now...not sure
koolnoor 5 Posted October 1, 2013 Thnx everyone for sharing. I still think mine is a little odd cause I don't get it while I'm eating, but sometime after I have stopped.
Luka Beth 78 Posted October 1, 2013 In the beginning it was random and not food related...the food related part happened after recovery when i started noticing it.
