Catfish, you are an inspiration and proof that believing in yourself and your band is what you need to be successful, even if results don't happen immediately. I am amazed by your success, but also knowing your commitment, am not surprised by it.

Congratulations to someone I consider to be one of the more inspirational people on this board.

I absolutely agree. I have gotten more inspiration and learning from this board than all of the net searching talking to friends in similar situations and the surgeon. This board rocks and you do to.

Thanks for the sunshine this morning. Perseverance over time is an amazing formula -- with that and a properly adjusted band the future looks very bright!

Thank you for sharing your experiences and insights with us...

Congratulations on your success, and encouragement to others. In today's fast paced society, patience and perserverence are not readily subscribed to. But for the weight loss journey with a band, that is what is required.

Awesome job...and an inspiration to many others!

Catfish - thank you for your post this morning. Beautifully written, and well received. You are a testament of what this is all about. Great job! And I truly believe that slow & steady wins the race, and that the band is not "set and forget" device.

Thanks again for this post......really good advice AND encouragement :)

Thank you for your post. It helped remind me not to panic when my weightloss is stalling. Even though it slowed way down, I'm not gaining. I eat completely different and have different cravings;fruits and veggies. Who knew.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
