Ugh I just got a fill. I was able to eat tuna patties before so I thought ok I will make some. Nope that will be a forever NO food. That was awful.

you may be a bit swollen from the fill. my doctor has me on liquids 2 days then mushies for a day after my fills.

You should be on liquids for 2 days, then go to mushies for 1 day. You might be able to eat them again, but you won't know that for several days.

My post fill diet is also long:

3 days liquids & shakes

3 days mushies & shakes

....soft...then progress to reg diet

It's like doing a 5 day pouch or post-op surgery diet after every fill.

Couple thoughts...one, definitely remember that worked with the last fill needs to be 'retested' after the next fill. The slightest additional restriction can make a yes food a no food real quick lol. But also remember, give yourself a few weeks after the fill to truly test the band. By than the inflammation has subsided and the band has been well used giving you an idea of how lose/tight that band will be at that particular fill. Lastly, band restriction fluctuates from day to night, day to day.. If you notice your band is slightly more open than normal, take advantage and eat a tuna patty :)

Although I have foods I hesitate to eat because they consistently cause issues, I still keep them on the list for 'open days' :)

This may be a dumb question.

Since surgery I have this burp tht just happens. It comes mostly after I know I'm done eating. Sown times when changing positions too. My surgeon said this may never go away but it's not harmful. Question is, is this considered productive burping or not? If not, what's the difference? Is pb dangerous?

I have the grossest loud burps. I also hiccup when I eat too much. I was told that is part of the band.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
