The feel of the "Green Zone" ?

Recommended Posts

Does the green zone have a feel? Remember the feeling right after surgery; the swelling made me NOT have a appetite, do you have that same feeling of what I call pressure or tightness. As my third adjustment is near I'm hoping to know what may be in the near future.

Speaking for myself...the green zone has taken away my appetite all together....I just do not feel the desire to eat, or have an interest in food....

The best way it was explained to me is that the band is telling my brain that I am full - satisfied..even though physically I do not feel full...but it is entirely mental....thus there is not the desire to continue eating....my brain is telling me I have no need to.

It's like thanksgiving dinner where you cannot possibly eat one more thing....but physically I do not feel it...just mental.

I have never felt that "Full" feeling that others describe....

Everyone will have their own experiences to share with being in the Green Zone.

For me it has not been a constant "fullness" I still get hungry on occasion but it is a true tummy rumbling physical hunger and I find it takes very very little to feel satisfied. I go days feeling like I'm too tight and eat very little other days I am able to eat more. I have a Protein Shake in the morning and then a very small lunch and dinner. I find that I just don't think about food the way I used to.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
