kll724 3,055 Posted September 26, 2013 oh, yipes, I bethca itch like heck. Did you break out, or just itch? Well at least steri strips come off after a week or so. Best wishes. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted September 26, 2013 I have the same problem. Same with medical tape, I can only use cloth or paper tape otherwise I get actual sores where the tape touches. Of course ask your doctor to make sure it's safe for your specific circumstances, but if the skin isn't broken I found Bendadryl cream helped soothe it a lot. If the skin is broken, I found Neosporan helped heal it faster and soothed it. 2 dylanmiles23 and Debbie3sons reacted to this
JessicaLynn04 37 Posted September 26, 2013 I had the same issue except I was allergic to the antiseptic that they used to clean my stomach. It was horrible.
tlbutler 98 Posted September 26, 2013 Thanks everyone!! I have raised blisters where the bandages and steri strips were. I am so itchy it is almost driving me insane. The surgeon removed all of the steri strips as I am 9 days post op and gave me a topical ointment but omg!!!

Aloe helps also. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
StacyK 11 Posted September 27, 2013 I am allergic to many kinds of tape too. My surgeon said he would use dermabond (surgical glue) on my incisions so I hope that will prevent a problem. I'm even nervous about tape from IVs etc. because I have had rashes and sores from tape in the past. Even paper tape. 1 tlbutler reacted to this
tlbutler 98 Posted September 27, 2013 I am heading back to see the surgeon again today...I am miserable. I looked like I got beat by a bat and I am so itchy. Other than that though, I feel amazing!!!!

Zingythingy 210 Posted September 27, 2013 I'm mega allergic to adhesives. A product called eurax helped me as well as teatree. I had tape marks post surgery right where my bra sits even though I had an allergy band/bracelets on. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk
Veronica68 81 Posted September 27, 2013 Not allergic to tape- but do have allergies to lots of lotions with perfumes and get eczema. Broke out in hives from pennecilin. I found benedryl works wonders. I would ask your doc. if you can take that. Really really helped me.
