Lap Band vs. Realize Band

I've read a lot that there are two different band types (i.e. lap band vs. realize band). I understand some of the differences and that it is mostly surgeon preference but anyone want to give your views and the differences and why you chose one over the other?

Just my opinion, but I really don't think either is better. I just let my surgeon choose which one is best for me. I have 10cc Lap Band.

The Lap Band has been around a lot longer, and has a long history of stability, many people love their Lap band and Realize Band.

Both works great for many.

Personally, I prefer the Lap band.

My surgeon only uses the Lap Band, so I haven't really researched the Realize Band. It seems to me, based on things I've seen in the Banded community, that they're pretty similar, and people have great success with both.

I will be getting banded on the 9th and my doctor uses a 10cc lap band.

My Doctor prefers the Realize band because of the port. He stated it has a lower profile and easier to find when doing fills. Also, he believes the mechanism for attaching the port to the muscle wall is better than Allergan. Again, it is a Surgeon's preference and it is what I went with.
