Oh I love my zip, had the one and loved it too butl it was old and stopped working. Now I want an excuse to get the flex but my zip is in perfect shape still. I like that it links up to fitness pal and other apps to show your progress or you can track food on the fitbit app and website. Anyway I bought my dad one as a gift and he wears his every day. It's a great product!!! All of the models are great!

Just received one today as a gift. It seems pretty cool. My sis purchased it through Amazon.com and you can download the app for free. I haven't seen everything as to how it does it all but. It seems pretty useful.

A friend at work was considering of getting one because Weight Watches has their own for approx 40 dollars. But you have to pay 5 bucks on using the website. With the fitnit, it's free.

Good luck

Yes, I love the Water tracking too. Also, seeing my activity and how far I've walked kinda makes me want to increase it for the next time. And I forget it's even there! I'm lovin it

I saw this post and starting to consider a Fitbit myself. My birthday is coming up and my husband has been asking me what I want. I went to their website and watched the videos and stuff, but still don't understand how it makes you sleep better or exercise more. Is this thing actually worth $100 or is it just a fancy pedometer and I should I ask for jewelry instead?

Jewelry vs fitbit? That's a hard decision. I like my fitbit over a pedometer because it's more accurate and user friendly. It motivates me to exercise because I want to go over 10,000 steps. If, at the end of the day, I'm close I walk around until I hit my goal. Don't really use the sleep feature (I did a couple of times) and don't see how it could actually improve my sleep. Wt loss has improved my sleep!

I have the fitbit flex and I love it!!!! It is just a expensive pedometer unless you use it to push you to walk more and become friends with others and compete with them and let them push you as well. I have had mine since July as a birthday present....best present ever and it syncs with my fitnesspal!!!

I have the fitbit ultra. If I were to get another I would get the Bracelet one. My niece just bought the bracelet and loves it. I live in the Boston area and got mine at the AT&T store and they were discounted. I have had it since December.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
