8 Days Post Op and Feelimg Great!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone and Happy Friday!

I had surgery on 9/12. Felt okay after surgery and tried to go back to work on Monday, too soon for me. Tuesday and Wednesday at work was really difficult and I was exhausted! Yesterday was better and today I feel great! No more gas and just mild discomfort around the port. I am still not hungry. I moved to thicker liquids yesterday and thought I really wanted egg drop Soup. I tried it but it just did not taste good to me...strange. The best part is that I have lost 20 pounds including 10 days of pre-op diet.

I am feeling so positive about the future! Having lunch at school with my daughter today (or watching her have lunch) and then off to the gym for some treadmill time.

I am so happy to have found this forum so I can learn from everyone. I am scheduled for my first fill on October 11th. Did anyone else have a fill just 4 weeks pre-op?

How are the other September bandsters doing?

Sorry about the title, too early for spelling!

I had surgery the day before you, and I am feeling great too!! I think having had two C-sections kind of prepared me for the recovery. I don't feel hungry, and when I do, I have some of my Protein Shake and it's fine. That's funny about your egg drop Soup. I had a similar experience with Crystal Light. I lived off of it pre-surgery. It's all I drank. But now, all I want is Water. Which is great, but weird!! Congrats on your weight loss!!

I agree! I had a C-Section with my last one so after the surgery and I kept thinking, well it's not as bad as a C-Section. I am looking forward to mushies next week. Good luck and stay in touch!

Congrats on your weight loss. 20lbs is so awesome!! I had my first fill four weeks after my surgery. Well I had an unfill two weeks after and then three weeks later I had my fill. I am pretty sure that 4 weeks is the minimum time most doctors give for the wait time until the next fill. Or if you feel like you really need another small fill some doctors might do it for you.

Do you mind if I ask how much they added at your first fill? Could you tell a difference?

I have 1cc in my band and then I had an unfill because I couldn't get liquids down. Then I had 1cc put back in. I wish she would have been a little bit more liberal with the amount she put in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
