Fitbit flex + lapband = motivation

Recommended Posts

I am in love with my fitbit flex and having the band helps. I am obsessed with going the extra mile or step just to watch it record. Does anybody else use it???

I'm getting banded in a cpl weeks but I love fitbit. Haven't upgraded to flex I have the zip and used to have the old one too. Anyway that has been something I've used consistently the past few years I love it. Especially the fact that there's an app now and it links to others.

I picked one up on my trip to the States this summer and I'm obsessed with it also. It really is motivational, isn't it?

ME!!! I'm totally obsessed with mine too! I have had it a week as of tomorrow and I have actually gotten out of bed at 10 minutes to midnight to burn an extra 70 calories to hit my calorie goal! LOL I love it!! I did learn that if you set a 15k step goal for the day you gotta get to work on those early in the day or you will be on the elliptical at 10pm! Ha!

I also use a Heart Rate monitor (Polar FT4) while I am exercising and that is also very motivating because you know just how hard (or not) you are pushing yourself. Then it tells you how many calories you burned based on your weight and heart rate. LOVE IT!!

I was going to buy but never got around to it. I ended up downloading Runkeeper app to my iPhone which works pretty decent. How is the wake up alarm? Have you tried it? And having sleep Apnea I am curious how the sleep function works.

thanks

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
