What is a typical day for you?

Recommended Posts

And how far out are you?

I got banded today. Feeling sore and swollen, but great! I am just trying to figure out what to expect.

I'll go first. Surgery day.

Surgery was 7:30 am.

I sipped Water before leaving the hospital and on the way home at around 11 am.

I had a half a cup of tea around 2pm.

I had about a cup of broth at 6pm.

I just had a little Jello at 8:30pm to get the icky liquid pain killer taste out of my mouth.

Hi Vanessa. Welcome. I am banded 8 months and I follow a WW type of plan...3 oz. Protein, 1/2 cup veggies, 1/4 cup carbs. I track my calories and stay between 1,000 and 1,150 a day. That includes a 100 calorie Protein powder supplement. You can see my tracker shows the total weight loss so far.

The one thing I don't do is exercise. I have joint degeneration in the knees and hips and have to get hip and knee replacement before I can get on the bike or treadmill. Once I do, I can eat a little more if I want or I know the remaining weight will come off. At this point, I've stalled a bit but I'm OK with it as I reached the most important goal, which was to lose enough weight to have a good outcome. Oh and as an FYI, I eat all types of protein...meat, chicken, fish, or at times, non meat Protein like hummus. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

6 1/2 months banded....65 lbs. lost.

I have scrambled eggs or small bowl of Cereal for Breakfast.

Sandwich thin for lunch with turkey, ham, tuna, or chicken salad (always homemade and always very low fat with extra veggies) and a sugar free pudding snack.< /p>

dinner is whatever my family is having, but about 1/2 of what I used to eat.

Myfitnesspal.com is what I use to track and I eat between 1000 - 1200 cals a day.

I walk/jog 3 miles about 3-4 times a week also.

GOOD LUCK!! YOU GOT THIS!!

Congrats on your surgery, and welcome to banded life! :)

I'm 7 months out. This is what a typical day looks like for me:

Breakfast: coffee with sugar free Creamer, and either oatmeal or a kashi bar

Lunch: typically either a salad of some sort, or an open face turkey/chicken sandwich on toasted low carb bread.

Dinner: I just eat whatever I make for my family. Tonight I made mini meatloaves, peas, and diced potatoes. I had a little bit of everything...1 mini meatloaf, 1/4 cup potatoes, 1/4 cup peas. it equaled about one cup total. I was able to eat most of it.

Snacks: some days I don't snack at all, but there are days I'm just hungry in between my meals. My go to Snacks are almonds (I always count out half a serving), cheese sticks, or raw veggies...I'm loving cherry tomatoes right now!

I track every single thing I eat on sparkpeople. I try to measure my food whenever possible. i have a whole drawer full of my measure utensils. I eat 1200 calories or less...most days it's less.

I try to do something active a couple times a week, but I don't have an exercise routine. For me, while I'm trying to lose weight, I want to put my focus into what I'm eating. Eventually, I'd like to get into a regular exercise routine, but for now this is what works for me.

up and go to work and then go home....truly

but i eat my allotted amounts (Protein first, then veggies and fruit) and i drink all the live long day.......and exercise.....every single day (especially now that i can).....i eat when i am truly hungry and i do not stress over what i can and cant eat......we are no longer on a diet......we can eat whatever and we have the power to eat/make better choices..i also come to this forum daily for support and try to help not only myself but other people like me...it is a process and it needs to be used as doctor advises for best results.

congrats on your surgery

i hope it makes you as happy as my surgery has made me.

I am about 5 months post op and 65 pounds gone forever!

I start my day with a coffee Protein Drink because sometimes my mornings starts busy.

For lunch is a Protein, a fruit or a veggies. My lunch time is around 1130

Then I go to job number 2 and do some type of an active activitiy with my day care kids

If I get hungry at the day care I will eat half of a Protein Bar

I usually get home around 7 and I have dinner around 730. I work out while dinner is cooking in the oven.

Good Luck to you and welcome to the otherside!

I'm a lot happier when I eat the foods I like but smaller portions then before. I keep my lap band looser for this reason and have been losing. Steadily

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
