Adorable, Lisa!

I'm struggling a bit. I wish I did PB. I throw up - not a lot, but I get really queezy. My stomach muscle feel really tight.

My right leg is a real bother these days. I haven't walked in over a week. Guess walking was good for more than burning calories.

Momma - I'm glad you are perservering.

Good morning Junebies. As of today, my last day at my old crappy job, I am down 100 pounds. Only two more pounds to onederland too. I'm going to Disneyland Thursday, then a three day cruise on Friday, so it will be a challenge to keep it there, but I'm up for that.

I told you I had a new job 5 minutes from home. While waiting to start, I found an even better job, with a 20% pay raise, only 12 minutes from home, no traffic. Woo hoo!

I did start walking a week ago, and I attribute getting over this hump finally to that. My loss has slowed down for sure, but I have no doubt I will reach goal sooner or later.

For those of you having problems, I think my success has been partly due to never being too tight. I've only had a couple of PB's, both since my March fill, but I am not getting any more in the near future. It's all about the hard Protein, and not drinking for an hour after eating for me. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

:clap2::clap2::clap2:WE HAVE A CONTRACT ON OUR MICHIGAN HOUSE!!!! iT'S BEING FAXED AS i TYPE.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PRAYED AND SENT GOOD WISHES.

Cathy, I totally agree with you. The more fill I got, the slower I lost. I have lost my ability to eat normal foods at times and that means hitting the chips and queso, refried Beans and the complimentary ice cream cone at my fav Mexican restaurant.

One sad thing. I will fly to Michigan on September 14 for the closing and will miss the Dallas meeting. A bittersweet bunch of news.

Please continue to remember us in your prayers. We have inspections and some homestead tax issues to deal with, but we are on the right track!

Pinky,

Congrats on selling the house. It's got to be a weight off your shoulders.

I'm enjoying my first unemployed day in 12 years, so what if it only lasts a week? My sweetheart arrives at the airport at 2:30, and then the vacation begins! Hope you all have a great week.

Congrats to your son Lisa. And congrats to Pinkylee on selling the house. I went to Lake Tahoe for 4 days. I had never been before. We had a great time. I go back to work on Monday :). Good news is....I was 175 this morning! We went to the gym each morning at the hotel we stayed at and went swimming twice, so that helped. I did have a really bad PB yesterday which lasted for 2 hours(sliming, etc.) UGH! I think it was from a chicken wing. Sorry-TMI! Have fun at your Dallas get-together. I wish I could be there!

Hey there!

I received some good news today. I do not have to have surgery on my ankle (yet). First we are going to try physical therapy. If that doesn't help it then we go to the second option ....cast me up for 6 to 8 weeks to keep me completely non-weight bearing. If that doesn't do the trick then they may need to do surgery but that's last resort. Thank God!!

I start PT birght and early Monday morning (7 a.m.).

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed it works.

Hope the PT works for you. It would be nice if you could avoid surgery. Got everything crossed for you. :)

Doing great since the slight unfill. I think I will have the scope procedure done before I try another one. Not anxious to do that so I haven't scheduled it yet.

hey guys, I haven't posted about this because I was hoping it wouldn't be true. When I was in the hospital for that horrible ordeal they kept giving me blood thinner shots in my stomache, they had to do it on the left cause they cut me open on the right. I have had nightmares hoping that they did not stick me in my tubing for the band. When I went to my last fill appt, they said there was A LOT of Fluid missing, and they wanted to go ahead and fill me and come back and a couple of weeks and check it again. I haven't gone back again yet will next week, but after a few days my restriction was gone again. I think they stuck me and I now have a leak. When will this nightmare end. If that hospital did that and cause me to have a leak in my band what in the world am i gonna do?????? Thanks for letting me rant!!!

Melissa- Good news on the ankle! Best of luck with the PT and avoiding surgery!

Regina- Oh my gosh! That stinks! You have gone through so much. Hopefully they can use Omnipaque or something and it won't leak!

Croatica and Barb- Best of luck with the unfills.

Well, Iam back from vacation and I was going to go dress shopping for my brother's Wedding which is now a month away - Sept.15th!

I was not good while on vacation so Iam still holding at 220 which is still 70 pounds down. Iam thankful for that even though I really wanted to be further down the scale by now!

But......I HAD A 15_3_39.gif MAGIC LAPBAND MIRACLE MOMENT HAPPEN THIS MORNING!

1. I CAN NOW FIT INTO THE BLACK BRIDESMAIDE DRESS I WORE IN 1996 WHICH IS A SIZE 18 AND IT FITS WITHOUT A SPECIAL PIECE TO WORN TO HOLD ME IN!

2. MY WEDDING DRESS A SIZE 20 NOW FITS PERFECTLY AGAIN WITH OUT A SPECIAL PIECE WORN UNDERNEATH!

**What I mean by special piece ladies is that gross, tight, "I have to feel like a sausage and hold it all in piece!" You know the one the digs in and you stay uncomfortable for hours to look good! --lol

Iam just going to buy a good bra and underwear and control top pantyhose. I need to get new shoes and a bag.

Iam enclosing pictures of me wearing the gowns :

The black dress was worn in 1996 for my cousins Wedding and is a size 18, I was 26 and I loved that dress. The pictures have me with my Mom and my brother. She is wearing the Pink dress. Do you think we look alike? Can you believe she just turned 60 on August 9th, she is very young looking you will notice!

The second cream dress is from my Wedding of March 27,2002, and since it was my second marriage I wore a cream dress. It was a size 20! The pictures have me with my husband Bill.

They might be big since I can not adjust the pictures from my HP photo shop files. Iam very sorry for this, I am having a hard time learning to adjust them so please bear with me!

I not sure which dress Iam going to wear, but Iam gearing towards the cream since I have only worn it once and the black dress at least 4 times for other Weddings of friends and a few Christmas parties over the years.

I will post when I decide which one I will wear and of course the Wedding photos I take of me in the dress and my son in his tux as ring bearer.

Lisa

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
