Wow Pinkylee --are you alright??? Thank goodness you didn't break any bones. I'd take that jacket back to Kohls and buy you something nice that you would like to wear instead. Just a thought.

Barb4 and Socalgal --I'm trying to get to wonderland but up a half pound this morning. Did you all ever see "The Devil Wears Prada"? There is a line in the movie where the assistant says, "I am one stomach flu away from my goal weight". My version of this line ...."I am one really good poop away from Onderland!" LOL Well, it's funny to me.

Leecelove --glad that your feeling better after your unfill. Let us know how your husbands heart cath turns out.

Ladies (especially the ones that know me)...I'm wondering if I should get a little fill (like .2cc prior to moving???) I'm pondering this thought. Hummmm

Well, talk to you ladies and gents tomorrow.

Melissa, if you're going to get a fill I would do it soon. It will be a stressful time when it's time for the actual move and the new job. Get the fill now and let it settle for awhile. I haven't seen the movie.........your adaptation makes me want to see it! Too funny.

Pinkylee, I sure hope you are ok. You've had enough aches and pains lately. Isn't it amazing how unexpectedly things can happen. Guess that's why they call them accidents.

I'm having a really bad time. I'm thinking I may need to get another fill. I hate to go back to where I was when I was overfilled but I'm wondering if I was really overfilled or was it just all the stress going on in my life at that time???????????? What to do, what to do? I am amazed that I am not gaining weight the way I have been eating. I am very thankful but it's time to start losing again.

Well I'm up another lb so that makes 4 of them. I don't think a good poop is going to hellp me. I definitely need a fill, but I'm not going to do it yet. We are going to Orlando on the 2nd and I'm afraid to get one and then have problems. I've just got to keep my mouth closed after dinner. I haven't had any ice cream, but I've had Cookies and candy. This isn't like me so I'm just out of control.

PinkyLee I'm glad you are OK. I'd be taking that back to Kohl's in a heart beat! At least she could have come and gotten it after all of your effort and injury. Kids!

Those going to Las Vegas I want you to start gathering some pictures of your weight loss journey. You will need about 6-8 pictures of the progress you've made. I have a fun activity planned for us so start getting those pictures together.

We had a great weekend. It was nice to feel good for a change and so did DH. I think our colds/flu are over now and we're back to ourselves. Now it's time to get back on track and start losing again.

Hey peeps! I decided to ride my bike where I usually walk. 6.5 miles. It was alot tougher on the bike, but I did it! My new favorite meal is Cottage Doubles. I bought some lingonberry preserves at IKEA and make my own. Yum. But I was up to 190 this morning. Whatever.

I officially hit the -50 pound mark today. I was :clap2: so excited. Its been a journey thats for sure. This band can be so fickle. My husband says now I know what its like to have a wife....LOL of course he isnt getting a nice valentines now....LOL Actually he has been very supportive.

A friends husband made a comment about my butt this weekend. It was weird and nice at the same time. I guess others are noticing the wieght loss too.

I'm fine after the fall. Thanks for asking. I wasn't paying for the jacket, but it still wasn't fair. I think I've shared DD has gained a lot recently and is now on the edge of womens sizes. I cut her some slack and I shouldn't have.

I hung in there with the physical therapy and I'm glad I did. I'm now in a learning phase for my abs and got a stretchy band to help strengthen them. I don't like the exercises, but maybe I can make a modified routine (3 minutes/day tops) of their stretches and ab work.

Regarding those fills. No fill can make me tighter than my own stress level. Be careful out there!

Socalgal - congrats on the ride. I love biking - on the flats. For some reason the scenery is easier to observe on a bike. There is a great book out called the "Woman Doctor's Diet for Women". I believe a new version is still available. I used her plan in the late 70's and it was more or less a South Beach plan. Cottage cheese was on her no no list because she had observed over the years that cottage cheese did not promote weight loss. There are other plans that don't allow dairy and their reasoning is similar (LA Weight Loss is one). Just a thought....

No one is "out of control", but we sure aren't burning the lower numbers up either. I say we accept that this is a norm for this time in our band life and ride it out.

I love this band. At this stage in any diet in my past, I would have put back on some serious weight.

I agree Pinky. I've never stayed on a diet for seven months in my life. I had lunch today with a couple girls I used to work with. They had not seen me nor did they know about the band. They were blown away by my appearance. Sure does encourage you to go on when you get that kind of validation.

I know we have a bunch of Oprah fans on here. Did everyone see the segment on "The Secret"? Has anyone seen it? My daughter sent me a copy and I think it's awesome. The secret is nothing new but they have a great website and blog. Just wondered what everyone thought. Oprah is taping another segment regarding "The Secret" on Wednesday. I don't know when it will air. If you missed it or are interested the website is thesecret.tv.

Melissa Lea- OMG!! I am cracking up over the line from The Devil Wears Prada! I know exactly how you feel. I hovered over the onederland line for a few weeks around Christmas time and I kept thinking about that! If I could just have a good "crap" (I'm such a lady!!) I'd get below 200! Hilarious!! Two months later and I am only down 8lbs. at 192. Guess it's time for another good crap!!

Keep your chin up! The day you get on there and see a # that begins with one you just want to Celebrate. It's an amazing feeling!

Hope everyone is doing well today. I've had a busy, busy morning at work. I'm getting ready for a 2 hour meeting so it will be afternoon before I can get back to my desk and finish some work.

I'm still eating too much. It's either too much or nothing at all for me. I would love to know the feeling of the "sweet" spot. Maybe someday.

I tried eating some Special K this morning with a banana. I'll see if this keeps me full a little longer. DH also made me a toasted ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. This will be my first attempt at bread so we'll see. I have a can of Soup in reserve if this doesn't work. :)

I was reading a thread about weight loss areas with the band. I noticed that I had lost weight differently this time. I have a flat tummy from my waist down. I've not had that before. I lost considerably from my tummy, but there is a roll of fat above my waist that looks kinda weird. I've not lost as much on top, but 2 of my 4 chins are gone. I've also seem to have gotten "puffy". Not sure how else to describe it.

I checked into the prepared frozen meals over the weekend. I didn't see any that we could eat easily and they have lots of sodium. DH told me he is going to try Nutrisystems. He has about 15 lbs to lose, but his big thing is getting his sugar under control. Since I've gotten banded he has gained weight and eating lots of sugar. Not sure why all the changes with him. He has been so good about eating right and keeping his weight in line. I think its like sympathy morning sickeness in reverse!

Hope everyone is OK with the different weather conditions throughout the country today. We are having a mild and balmy day, with a cold front moving our way.

Socalgal --congrats on the bike. I too love bike riding. I do not currently own a bike. But in my younger years, myself and sometimes my family would go on 20 mile bike rides just for the pure joy of it (out in the country away from the city). I loved it. I hope to one day get back to that.

Kimsretro --congrats on the 50# lost. That's an emazing accomplishment and you should be so very proud of your achievement.

Pinky --so glad to hear that you are doing well after your fall.

Barb465 --I agree with you and Pinky ---our weight loss is slow and steady but I can't remember the last time I staid on a diet for 7 montsh and NOT FELT DEPRIVED. I truely have not felt deprived on this diet. I generally eat healthy but there are times I want things not so healthy. I have a small portion of that and I am satisified. I have also found that some of my old time favorites (cheese burger, fries, etc) ....are no longer my favorites. Right now I'm hot on Chick fil-a southwest grilled chix salad. Love it!

Dancing queen --i'm starting to feel like I need more than a poop, maybe a little diarrhea will do me in to onederland?? LOL. I am almost there and I will succeed. I feel like I am on the edge of greatness with my weightloss. Well, at least my reality or lack there of keeps me motivated to continue moving forward.

Melissa Lea

Valentine's goal --I can see that I am not going to make this goal by tomorrow (195 lbs). Anyone else make or not make your goal??

My Easter goal (April 8, 2007 ---190 pounds!!!)

No, I didn't make my Valentine goal either. When I set that goal of 185 I was overfilled and losing weight daily. Since then I have gained four pounds. I'm not stressing about the gain, I needed to stabilize.

I'll go along with Melissa and re-set an Easter goal!

I will attract what I want in life and I want good health and peace.

My Valentine goal was to lose 10 lbs. I lost 8 then gained 4, so I didn't make mine either. Will recomit to Easter goal of 10 lbs from this date. I've been good about the Water and Multivitamin. I'm stopping at Curves tonight and sign up. I need to get the exercise started.

I never set a Valentine goal! If you like Jamba Juice....they have a promotion right now to get a free 30 day pass to 24 hour fitness when you buy a Jamba Light. I am already a member there, but I got one for a friend so they could go with me. I'm already stressing about my first fill even though it is a month or so away. I just keep thinking if I get one, I could slip again. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, but it does worry me. So Easter is April 8? Let's see...Easter goal... 175 lbs. Have a good week all.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
