I'm not an expert by any stretch but I follow weight watchers and adjust it to suit my band. I don't eat meat now I substitute it for quorn, everything is low fat no added sugar. I always eat Protein first or I'm hungry pretty quickly.

If your hungry quickly after meals maybe your band needs slightly adjusting, I believe everyone plateaus (so I've read) I don't know if you can but I walk over an hour a day. chin up :) more calories out than in is the key...

Wow, you are doing great -- thats a lot of weight loss since March. Whatever the plateau is, it's temporary -- you are on your way to that goal. Best wishes!

Your doing awesome! I will share what my Nut had to say at a meeting yesterday maybe this will help you.

There is a ratio of calories in and calories out. When we take in less calories our metabolism will slow down to accommodate the amount of calories we require it to function on, thus slowing weight loss and balance the scales. For us..that means a Plateau, not gaining but not losing.

The only way to unbalance that scale is to knock it off balance by either pushing our exercise routines up a notch or shifting it up..if we walk..we should run or bike, weight lift. If we are eating the same things all the time, we should shake that up and shock the system into response.

If you ask the body to continue to burn more and more and push it off the plateau metabolism will kick in and start burning the fat stores again.

I agree with the above. I'm at a plateau now so im adding different machines on my resistance days. I am seeing the difference in the where are you my clothes fit...just not the scales.< /p>

You are doing fantastic, just think, you are only 26 lbs from goal and it less than a year! :) , As you lose, it gets tougher to lose the last 25 lbs, I think! Best wishes, and it will happen. Karen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
