Hello friends!I go to CDH and i have Dr. Woodard as my dr now.He is not my original dr i had to change due to insurance would be way too expensive at other drs office.I love Kara the nutritionist.Dr Woodard is great.I am glad i was able to find another surgeon that understands me and he is funny and not so serious all the time! From what i hear he is the only one that doesn't numb you before he gives you a fill.I have never been numbed in the area for a fill.It doesn't bother me at all.So far so good!

I love Woodard... Not a fan of Kara at all... How's your journey so far. I have had 2 fills, painless I literally didn't even feel it. I'm losing really slow. I can't workout due to An injury this whole time. Trying to stay positive... I'm down 36 lbs since surgery... Wish it were more tho. But a loss is a loss

Kara i like. There is another one there that i had one time and didn't care for.Have you gone to any of the support group meetings?Every 4th monday of the month. They are pretty good! You learn different things. All types of patients go there.Pre op,post op and people that have had it for years. You should go!Fun group and sometimes we meet afterwards for coffee or something light to eat.You will know when you get your fill and know that your at your green zone.Yeah fills are easy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
