How much did you ladies have to lose before being able to go get new clothes? I'm excited but I know it won't be for a little while but I was just curious :-)

Im excited to wear the clothes I grew out of again. My jeans are looser, I dont have to lay on the bed to zipper. My tops are not so tight on my hips.

I think I may wait until after christmas.. or buy some stuff on clearance this fall.and put them away for next summer. Gonna take a guess and say maybe i will be XL to 2x,

:)

I have found that the bigger the clothing sizes the more weight you have to lose between sizes.

When I first started out I was in a 46W or 7X. I had lose about 60 pounds before I dropped down to the next size (which seemed ridiculous at the time).

Now, I'm in a 14 jeans or M/L shirt depending on the brand. If I lose even as much as 10-15 pounds it's enough to make my clothes entirely too big and I need to drop another size.

Okay well that explains why I'm not moving down in size much I'm either a 26 or 28 it varies. I would like to be a 22 by Christmas but I don't know that's a realistic goal or not.

I think I pretty much lost about 40lbs before I noticed enough difference to buy clothes. But I did not buy a lot. Just a few in each size. When I got out of them I sold them on EBay and made a good amount of money because they were hardly used.

I'm down 23 and I feel like clothes are looser and i can wear things now that were a bit too tight before, but I haven't dropped a size yet (I have about 100 to lose in total). I can't wait because I have a lot of cute clothes stashed in my closet that are 1 or 2 sizes too small.

it took me a few months or so before I could justify buying anything.. however once I went smaller I shipped all of my xl and 1x clothes to my step daughter who has lost 65 lbs .. She is a teacher and needed clothes for work.. I am now in a size 9 petite . I buy cheap stuff like capri's and shorts so I'm not out much money. I am hoping to be down to a size 7 by Christmas.. we will see

I started out in a size 26 and 4x tops, and I didn't drop a size until I was down about 35-40lbs.

Depending on the brand, I was a size 22 or 24 80lbs ago. I'm now a 16W. I have a FULL closet of clothes I'm trying to get organized as they no longer fit. I've just now had to buy some pants. Trying to make due with just a few things as I still need to lose over 50 lbs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
