OK, so i have to share one experience i had...... I think by now most people here know i say what i feel and have little to no filter.

Ran into a girl i use to work. We NEVER got along, she always talked about my weight behind my back with other co workers. Saying how fat i was... She use to be pretty thin, but has gained a pretty good amount of weight. Anyway we were at the grocery store. She came up to me and said. I heard you had LB surgery, how much have you lost. I told her 80lbs.. she rolled her eyes and smirked... At this point.. I don't know what came over me.... i looked at her, you know that head to toe scan, and said... Soooo howwww much weight have you gained now....

I know i know it was harsh.... but she deserved it. I LOVE KARMA...

Me again. I just told my husband and he once said to my aunt, who always had comments about everything especially weight, he said, I can always lose weight but you will never change. my oldest son was there and couldn't believe what was said.

My great aunt told me at my great uncles funeral that I had a mental problem and I needed counseling for my problem. She has always been so mean and said that infront on everyone! Oh I was also only 17 at the time she said it. Was so embarrassing but that's okay because karma is awful!

To all of you - we all did what was best for ourselves at the time. If someone hasn't dealt with being overweight, they don't understand. I'm sorry that all of you have had to go through what you have and had to endure these comments(I've had them too) it's really sad.

Its soul destroying when you get the "oh thought you'd of lost more" type comments. I wish I'd not told anyone I was having surgery.. Not only do people not understand that regardless of size we all have feelings their expectations of you sometimes can't be met. I was never going to wake up 120 llbs lighter overnight..does it really hurt to say something kind or encouraging.. Every single thing I eat drink is policed by my family..even my grocery shopping..aaahhhh

thanks jamilyne I do have support but it crazy as much support as I have one rude comment just wipes it all out.. went to dr for a fill yesterday and he felt that I am doing good so that turned it all around. In the end i am doing this for me. I love this site beyond wotds. i jsut come here and read others post because for the most part everyone is so encouraging and can relate.

@zingythingy... it is hard people think this is the magic poor u wake up being 120 lbs like that. i nipped plociing years ago when i was weight watchers my reply was I am an adult i know what I can and can not have and what works for you doesnt work for me and that shuts them up... If u sit back and look at others then are so quick to comment when they themseves are doing the "wrong" things... my smile is back my motivation and confidence is back... I often wonder who I am sometimes liek now as Im researching heart monitors and making my plans around spinn classes. I love the change the band as caused in me not just weight wise..

Good stories. Sometimes we forget this is a marathon. Not a sprint. Let us get thru a few years. it certainly helped to get people used to the new you. They go stop commenting. Eventually. Hopefully❤

call her down next time..... Look at her in her face and say: Aunt (insert name) what you just said was very hurtful and unsolicited The next time i want or need your opinion on MY weightloss... Ill ask, until then please keep them too your self. This is my journey and not yours.

My husband gets on me all the time about speaking my mind..... I tell him that if no one ever stands up to these types of people they will think it's ok and will continue to hurt others. NOT ON MY WATCH....

Giiiiirl, tell me about it! Last week I almost became a murderer. I walked into my neighborhood pharmacy, and the girl that works there is one of the FEW people I told (I only shared with her because she struggles with her weight and mobility and I wanted to give her the idea) as soon as I walk in and she sees me, she starts rubber-necking from the back. Then, she starts asking, I front of everybody there: how much did you loose? WoW, I can see it in your face! How long has if been? Your sister lost A LOT MORE (had the sleeve 1 month before me) ect.....

I can't wait to catch her ALONE! I mean, she works in a pharmacy!!!!! She should understand the concept of anonymity & confidentiality. Sheeeeshh!!

I'm having a little talk with my co worker Tom over the same thing. I told only a handful of peole n she was one of them I wish I had the men in black wand for her. Lol why are people so obsessed with our weightloss I'm starting to find the compliments annoying as well makes me feel like I was hideous before I get I was 50lbs heavier but I was still cute !!!
