HI, Just courious ...

After one recieves a fill how long does it take to adjust to the correct size. I know immediatly after the fill (mind you I've only had 2) the first couple of days afterwards are the toughest. Some days it seems the band is tighter than other days!?!? IS this possible?

I think it's possible, and probable. It happens for me as well. Some days I am feeling fuller faster, and hungry less often and then others I feel like I could eat a bit more or I am hungrier faster then I was the day before.

I think some of that has to do with my choices of food. salad vs chicken Breast etc. but I know in the mornings I am tighter then I am through out the day, and then sometimes right before bed it's a bit tighter again. Which works for me I have my cup of Decaf tea and hit the sheets for some Zzzz.

My band seems to be tighter when it hits mid-terms and finals. My doctor said it's due to stress, so we avoided doing fills during those times.

It usually takes a few days to a week for the initial swelling to go down. A few more weeks for the band to adjust to eating/drinking and than you should be acclimated at that particular fill.

Despite being yellow, green, or red, the band will adjust daily. A variety of things from dehydration and hormones to stress and illness can cause the band to be tighter. This can range from day to night or day to day...either way, proceed cautiously with every meal until you gauge if the band is tight or not so you eat appropriately :)

For me, I usually notice the greatest amount of restriction about two weeks after an adjustment. I think it's because I baby it early on... then just go back to eating normal. .. the new normal.

It takes me about a week to settle into a fill. For instance, I just got my first fill in 9 months today. I'm just having Tomato Soup for dinner tonight and will stick to Soups and pudding tomorrow, too. Wednesday I'll have some mushies and Thursday I'll try some soft food.

I go very cautiously after fills to give the swelling time to subside.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
