I can only feel mine if I lay down...guess it depends on how deep it is....congrats on your surgery!!! I am four weeks out today :)

It's very normal because it's covered by fat. When I was first banded, I had to lay down and raise my legs (or try to anyway lol) to try to make it bump a little so it wasn't so hard for the doctor to find.

Now, after losing over 200 pounds, it sticks out all the time.

Best wishes.

Yeah it honestly doesn't bug me. I kinda see it as my badge of weight loss success :)

I'm wearing a form fitting sweater today and if you stare right at it, you can see it through the fabric, but honestly you'd never know it was there unless you were looking for it.

I can feel mine, but it's not that deep. I had lost over 170 pounds prior to my surgery and the doctor said that was why. They said many are in as far as 4 inches, but mine can be felt quite easily.

I'm so with you on that.... My port doesn't stick out (yet), but when I feel it, I feel this weird sense of security. Like....my little helper is with me all the time :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
