Calorie Intake

Recommended Posts

I was wondering how may calories u guys consume in a day. I am almost 4 weeks out from surgery and my starting weight was 257 and as of three days ago I was down to 239...I had figured out that before surgery I was consuming roughly 3500 calories according to a calorie counter. It said that's what I needed to maintain that weight which is what I was doing somehow. I am trying to get between 1000 and 1100 calories a day and was wondering if that seems right. I am losing weight so I'm not complaining just curious. I have not been told what I should b consuming.

Always less than 1200, but I'm concentrating on hitting the Protein numbers as a goal. Some days I end up at 1200 but more often, I'm ending the day with somewhere between 800 -1000.

There is no right or wrong answer. Some eat as little as 800 a day whereas others eat as much as 1600 a day. It all depends on your metabolic needs.

Talk to your nutritionist and let them help you establish the right calorie range for you.

That is one of my daily goals too, to make sure I get all my Protein. I was told I need at least 90g of protein a day and I always get at least that much. I seem to be doing pretty well for now with the amount of calories I'm getting in now. It's sometimes hard because I'm not in the green zone yet which I know will take a while and I am mostly hungry but I am determined to work with my band and finally get this weight off. I already feel better with the little bit that has come off already :)...can't wait to see where I am in a year!!!

My myfitnesspal.com app is set to 999 because I hit a major plateau after 5 months at 1150. I was also used to a huge amount of calories per day so even if I "cheat" or splurge up to 1500 cals about once a week, it is still a fraction of what I was used to so I will still lose my 1lb a week.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
