southernqt 236 Posted September 15, 2013 I don't ever feel anything but pressure from them trying to find it. My doc will numb it with lidocaine first but I was talking to a lady on here and she said her doc didn't numb her before sticking her...
mab78 0 Posted September 15, 2013 Does the numbing hurt? I really am such a wuss when it comes to needles like that.
southernqt 236 Posted September 15, 2013 Does the numbing hurt? I really am such a wuss when it comes to needles like that. Nope can't even feel the prick....I think the other needle would hurt a lot worse with them trying to find the port lol. U might feel a little pinch but it last for less than a second because that medicine really works quick. Ask him to use the doppler machine too. It's like a sonogram machine and maybe he can find it better that's what I had to have done the first time because he couldn't really feel it so he wanted to make sure he knew exactly where he was poking.... mab78 0 Posted September 15, 2013 Oh good. I think the reason I'm so nervous is b/c past experience with giving blood when I was pregnant and before I did the lap band. Both times they had problems with my veins. The day of surgery when they did my IV, the nurse had the hardest time finding a vein and it really hurt. So now I am curious how much more painful this is going to be. Lol
southernqt 236 Posted September 15, 2013 Nothing like that well not to me
rmalikone 108 Posted September 15, 2013 Like getting a flu shot with no numbing of the port area. IMO
tdchicago 12 Posted September 15, 2013 Doesn't hurt and takes 30 seconds.
tipsyb 71 Posted September 21, 2013 Only once after a dozen fills can I say it hurt and even then it was a sharp quick pain. So really nothing to worry about.
