If I still feel hunger I go for sugar free Popsicles and sf Jello. It helps a lot!
Bigbandbetty 12 Posted September 18, 2013 Thank you! I have been trting to stay active lol I have been in Walmart everyday this week for atleast 2 hours walking around but u didnt want to over due anything..monday I plan to c how soon can I go to the gym I'm concerned that you seem to have had no advice from your team. Please...... Go on line and read read read. You MUST let the port and band stitches heal inside you so that they stay in place long term. The diet in the UK, post op, is the same for everyone. 2 weeks liquid (anything you could suck up a straw from McDonald's) and then 2 weeks 'mushy' food. Or fork pressed food. No limits. This first 4-6 weeks is healing time. Weight loss during this time is a bonus. You are so young but I understand why you have undertaken surgery......this must work for you so that you can live and enjoy a life that isn't food centric. God bless & Good Luck from Bigbandbetty x
#bandy 2 Posted September 23, 2013 I was just about to post that exact same question but searched for one already written. I am 5 days post op and haven't lost anything since surgery day. I thought for sure I'd loose something bc I've only had Protein mixed with Water, water, and sf Popsicles so with the drastic reduction in calories I figured I had to loose something. It's hard when people say don't look at other peoples weight loss but it's hard not too. That's why we come to these forums to see how other people are doing and to get an idea of what's supposed to be happening. I'm 28 if that matters lol. 1 chaqwela reacted to this
SandyM 1,956 Posted September 23, 2013 Remember, you are in survival mode at this time due to reduced calorie. Spend more time concentrating on healing. Don't worry about the scales yet. Sometimes it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get the swelling down then you should start seeing some weight loss. 2 chaqwela and lisacaron reacted to this

It's a safe haven for Bandsters new and old. I haven't found anything that comes close to this in the UK. I had started to become concerned about my weight loss too as I am three weeks post op and wallop! Appetite is back! Whooooosh! Just like that! Anyway..... Reference the guide given to me by the surgeon, appetite will one back until your first fill. In fact, post op, stomach is swollen and behaves like it's had a band fill. I can cope with that. If my port is secure, my band hasn't slipped during the first month......hey! I've achieved! Try hard not to compare myself with anyone...... We all just need to know sometimes that someone else is feeling the same way...... And Bandy..... I do x
donna450 130 Posted September 25, 2013 I am officially one week post op I have only lost 1 pound:(... I see ppl saying how they have lost 15 poinds in just 10 days after surgery whats going on with me! I dont feel any restriction at all n I cant have my firdt fill till im 6 week post op its kind of depressing to say the least....advice please help Did u lose preop? Since preop...6 weeks later as an average I have lost1/2 lb a day and haven't had my first fill yet which is 10-2. I believe this time postop is to give time to heal to adjust to eating differently and to change mindset. The band is a tool not a magic wand. You do the work and it'll work with you. Good luck on your journey...many vets here alot of info and just great people...welcome. 1 Bigbandbetty reacted to this

I have no clue whats going on maybe the fill will help! I know how u feel. I was banded 823 and I have not eaten but a weeks worth of dinners due to the fact that they won't stay down. One day I can eat something and it goes down fine the next time it won't. I have more prot smoothies than anything else. I haven't been filled yet. I take about 18 pills a day and I have to make sure they get down if nothing else. I haven't lost anymore than 20lbs sice preop on 8-8. I'm afraid to get a fill that my pills won't go down or that I won't be able to eat. So how do I healthfully lose? I hope u find your answers. Next month on 10-5 I am due to see the doctor for a fill. Last month he said I wasn't ready. Will I ever? I wonder! Good luck.
