blondegal_ 1,028 Posted September 14, 2013 Please follow your doctor's guidelines. While I won't pretend to know exactly why your doctor say no to one thing and yes to another, I'll make the guess that your body actually has to do some work to digest milk. And you just had major surgery and it's best not to use those digestive tract muscles before your doctor says. It can be hard to stick to the rules but they exist for your safety. You need to heal and that will take some time. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted September 14, 2013 Milk is not a clear liquid, so unless your surgeon specifically says you can have milk, no you can't have it. 2 carol285 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Veronica68 81 Posted September 14, 2013 Agreed- milk is not a clear liquid and that every doc. is different. I was on Protein Shakes right after surgery. I had no problems. I would suggest that if you are very weak/hungry you ask the doc. about Protein shakes. Congrats on your surgery! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

Yadiordz 346 Posted November 16, 2013 Wow 2 weeks that is kind of extreme, I will feel like you if was me , my doctor said 1 day clear liquid after surgery and three weeks full liquids after including milk fat free or low fat , but you have to follows you doctor instructions all doctors are different with these diets after surgery good luck
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted November 16, 2013 Milk isn't a clear liquid. It might sound silly to you but your dr has reasons for the rules he or she sets forth. I followed my doctors rules to the letter.... And I was very successfull. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck to you.
