Snire 0 Posted September 14, 2013 Hi everyone! I was banded on 9/5/13. I've lost 14 lbs since surgery but I am soooo hungry on this stage 2 liquid diet. I keep reading everyone saying that they are satisfied with a couple sips of water.....am I weird!?
3mommy 52 Posted September 14, 2013 I was and able to drink wayyyyy over the required Water amount and while I'm eating less i can still eat over 1/2 cup. I was banded July 31st start weight 243 current 219. But I've been stuck here for 2 weeks. I was supposed to have first fill on the 10th but I'm going away on sun on a airplane so doc said to wait until I get back. I am soooo ready for it. Currently I can't eat anything without problems. It's hard but I avoid the junk. I'm having a hard time with the carbs though. I love my Special K for Breakfast In the AM and my whole wheat waffles with Peanut Butter.< /p>
2muchfun 8,927 Posted September 14, 2013 No, I lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and felt like I was starving. I could drink and eat much more than the 1 cup the Dr recommended. It's quite normal and the patients who are satisfied on just few sips are few and far between.
Htx_Pepper 28 Posted September 14, 2013 I was banded August 1st and received 3cc's day of surgery. For 2weeks i had no appetite, merely bcuz of the internal swelling gas and nausea. But my appetite returned w/a vengeance by the 3rd week when it all subsided. By the 4th week i was back eating full meals. Let ur clinic know at ur next fill ur not feeling any restriction. Some nurses are willing to help with getting us to the green zone quicker than others.
mawgrot 23 Posted September 14, 2013 Hi everyone! I was banded on 9/5/13. I've lost 14 lbs since surgery but I am soooo hungry on this stage 2 liquid diet. I keep reading everyone saying that they are satisfied with a couple sips of Water.....am I weird!? No way you're not weird it depends on how much Ccs your doctor was able to place in your band at the time of surgery. I was not able to get a lot of Ccs I was at 6ccs after my surgery and I did get hungry during my healing phase. It is so important that you stick with the healing phase of your diet while you recoup, you don't want your stomach muscles tearing away the stitches placed around your stomach and band. Try to consume cream of wheat (make sure the consistency is very loose by adding milk to it) and Protein water/drinks really help and Jello. Good luck
Snire 0 Posted September 14, 2013 The surgeon said that he didn't fill my band at time of surgery and I don't think that I will be getting a file for a couple weeks...but does it get better once I can get on the mushy food? Thanks for your help everyone..who would have known this would be so hard at first?
