I can not stop crying!! What an emotional day! I am overwhelmed with joy! To think back to how run down and depressed I was less than 6 months ago. I was in such a dark and scary place for so long. I dreaded little things like going to the grocery store. I would go late at night so less people would see me. I carried sooo much guilt and shame. I was embarrassed to pick my kids up from school because I never wanted to be "that" mom...and there I was. I would get comments from the kids when I would volunteer to help...one little girl asked me if I was having a baby and when I said no she asked why my belly was so big. Can't blame her but it still hurt.

Now 5 months post op and I am feeling incredible! Inside and out!!

ONEderland is a ONEderful feeling.

If you are on this journey, PUSH yourself! Find that wall and break through it! YOU can do it!!! Don't waste time at the gym just getting by...WORK HARD while you are there. Make the most of the time you have!

If you haven't started your journey...dont wait any longer! The days are going to pass and you can't get them back! Just start...every journey begins with just a single step....TAKE THAT STEP TODAY!!! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!

Good for you! I was in that dark place too, when my youngest daughter acted like she was ashamed of how I looked. She call me old lady and always critiqued what I wore, now she always wants me to shop with her and bought me a pair of jeans today!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
