lisacaron 5,075 Posted September 12, 2013 You are doing great. You should not have foods that you can't tolerate. You should be able to eat everything you want to eat without a problem. You want to eat smaller portions of them, but still should not be having issues with the band or tolerating foods or liquids that is not the goal or the way to use the band. Keep on going, we all lose at our own pace. You are still healing inside and out, give yourself some time. I am 4 months out now, and losing slowly but surely. I know that the weight is NOT coming back and that makes me soooo Happy! 2 Sally Pearl and newlife828 reacted to this
Lela Clark 41 Posted September 12, 2013 I felt the same way. I had my 1 year anniversary aug 23 and was down 65 lbs. to me it seems so little compared to some of the other people on the site, bit my doctor is happy with it and when I go through my pictures and see the difference I am happy with it. Just keep on doing everything your Doctor says and what you know you are supposed to do and you will get there. Good luck on your journey. 3 Sally Pearl, newlife828 and KAATNS reacted to this
aug13hereIcome 9 Posted September 12, 2013 Thanks all so far! i measured my self today and i have lost a little (like a 1/2 in to and inch) each in different spots.. I know I shouldnt beat my self up and you guys are so right about just being happy with it.. it took me 6 months to get to 246 from 256 with weight watchers (jan - may) and i didnt keep it off.. so i just guess i should stay positive! i havent been on here in a while and i think that since no one knows about my surgery I have been lacking that support… only person who knows are my parents and husband and my mom read too much and saw that so many ppl lose weight so quickly so she and my father seem so surprised that I'm only down 15 from where i started.. THANKS AGAIN! maybe ill get the courage to post some pics!!! and congrats on your year anniversary LELA! and 30 lbs down Junior! AND thanks kespy!!! 1 lisacaron reacted to this
KAATNS 1,473 Posted September 12, 2013 I think I am a slow loser too, BUT a slow loser is better than no loser. You have to stop comparing your progress to others (which is hard, I know). Count your calories, exercise and stay focused. YOU GOT THIS! 3 newlife828, aug13hereIcome and catfish87 reacted to this

aug13hereIcome 9 Posted September 12, 2013 We got married last year but have our wedding next december & all i want to do is buy a wedding gown and feel beautiful in it 1 feelinggood reacted to this
Kristi Twisti 18 Posted September 12, 2013 Awe you will look great in your wedding dress. Keep in mind that right after surgery, you don't typically have much if any fill in your band yet. This leads to slow weight loss until your band has more fill in it and your eating is naturally slowed by the band. As an added note, my Dr. recommends 80g Protein daily. I asked if I ate this how I would eat anything else and he told me you really won't. It's similar to an Atkins I guess for quicker weight loss. Just something to consider, but always go by what your own Dr. says is best. Good luck on your journey!

Bandista 7,466 Posted September 12, 2013 Hi there, I am pre-band but I've been on here a lot reading people's stories to get my head in the right place and learn as much as I can while I wait for a surgery date. Some people actually gain in the first month post-op so eight pounds lost is great. Your body is healing up and adjusting to this big change and you just got your very first fill. For some it takes subsequent fills to find that green zone. You are doing beautifully! You are going to be gorgeous in your wedding gown, don't you worry -- and you've given yourself the best present possible, this band which is going to help you reach your goals. Try not to fret. Sometimes our parents well-meant "help" is not what we need and a wedding may be bringing up extra stress. You may need to let them know you are right on track and comments right now are not helpful. MandaMom23 684 Posted September 12, 2013 I think you're doing great!! I was actually UP about 8lbs for almost 3 weeks post surgery, so the fact that you've lost anything is pretty awesome!! Just keep following the rules, and doing what you're doing, and the weight will continue to come off!! Also, remember this is YOUR journey, and while it's hard, try not to compare yourself to others! Everyone is different, and will lose weight at different paces! You've got this...good luck on your journey!! 1 catfish87 reacted to this
Amberley 97 Posted September 12, 2013 Your doing great!!! It is sometimes easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others who are on the same journey. To keep myself from comparing my progress to others I shift my focus by surfing the internet to get visuals of how much weight I have lost so far. It helps me to realise how far I have come as the visuals show me what I am no longer carrying on my body!! So I looked up a few things for you that weigh 8 lbs: A human head weighs 8 pounds A newborn baby may weigh about eight pounds. Four sticks of butter weigh one pound. So a stack of 32 sticks of butter is no longer on your body!! A gallon of freshwater weighs 8.34 pounds ugh. cant figure out how to upload the pics. look on google for the images!!! Just think... your not carry any of the above on your body. Its no longer weighing you down. Amazing!!!! 1 Bandista reacted to this

I was banded on Aug 26. Pre-op weight 217 surgery day 210 and first fill 198 on Sept 11. I was very discourage but my dr informed me that was very good and lots of people don't lose that much and some even gain so be proud of your success! You've done well!!!!! 1 catfish87 reacted to this
