I was banded this morning and I'm home resting now! Feeling sore and tired but not NEARLY as bad as I thought I was going to feel! This is nothing compared to my c-sections...at least so far.

I'm a little hungry but not starving, so far so good! So happy to have made it to this point and so excited for what's to come!

I had mine done yesterday. And I thought it was much worse then I expected. But I have never had abdominal surgery before. I just told someone I don't know how women make it thru a c-section if I feel this bad after a little 2 inch cut. I still have no real appetite.

I don't have an appetite either which is awesome. My mouth is super dry so I'm just sipping on crystal light! And it will get better! The c sections were tough but seriously prepared me for this! Give it two days...every day you will move a little easier and sleep better. Good luck and keep your eye on the prize!

Hi, and welcome to band land...some lessons you will learn quick...others more slowly :-) ...but in the mean time ask any questions no matter how big or small ...I only had my band 3 weeks ago ....but there are good people on here and a lot of experience to share :-)

I had my surgery in may and it was alot worse than I expected and I've had several surgeries though none abdominal. Though I will admit tht my back was out at the time and it was hard to get around with both my new incisions and my bad back. It took me about 4 days to start feeling pretty good. No I cant tell I've had surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
