It will b here before u know it. I was banded on the 14th so I am one week old. Still have some gas, really rumbles sometimes. The worst part has been headaches that I wish would stop. I'm ready to move on to puréed foods.

We are all amazing and thank you for being out there to help me! ((Hugs))

Went for pre-op on friday 10-18 and final surgical clearance. I received a copy of my fmla paperwork and was suprised to see the Dr put me out for 2 weeks. I was only expecting 1 based on our prior discussions and what most people have said.

Any post ops having painful burping? Gurgles of gas from throat don't hurt but burps do.

Yes, that would be me as well. Feels like the gas is sitting in the back of my throat forever, then hurts when I finally burp.

I go back to work tomorrow for 3 12 hour shifts in a row. I am a little nervous. I want to remain hydrated which is hard at work. Also eating slowly on a 1/2 hr lunch will be a challenge. 7.4lbs down so far on post op day 6. My follow up appt is next week 11/1. I can't wait!!

I'm 9 days post op now. Had my follow up yesterday. Everything is looking good. Starting on mushy foods today. Scrambled eggs were awesome. I go in 2 weeks for my first fill! I've lost about 4 lbs, but not really thinking about losing right now, just trying to heal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
