Only when I have had enough and maybe decided to have one more bite! Last night I had hiccups, but not sure what caused them.

I burp when I drink too much carbonated drinks....always on a empty stomach because of the band.

Hiccups are another thing.....

I don't burp but I do "gurgle" a lot and it's VERY loud. It can happen at any at time. It started shortly after I was banded. My doctor said it happens to many banded people It doesn't hurt and he said it's nothing to worry about.

When it does happen it's just a reminder to me that my band is saying hello to me and that it's doing it job :)

I burp if I've eaten too much or with certain foods.

I burp quote often, both pre and post band, with or without food. I've been told I have awkward breathing, mainly as a mouth breather with little airflow coming in via my nose, resulting in swallowing air that gets trapped. It was thought at one stage a hiatus hernia could also be the cause, but fortunately on 2 occasions as well as lap band surgery, there is no sign of one.

I generally find its no concern, often it's a help if I feel rather uncomfortable in my stomach to burp to relieve the pressure. More the trouble of trying to act lady like whilst its happening.

Cucumber makes me burp more frequently than usual. No other particular food jumps to mind causing the burps

Only cucumber gives me some burping, but that's normal really for cucumber.

Like it is my job. First thing in the morning and all day long, eating has nothing to do with it to get it started.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
