Dont worry about the carbs... Breakfast time is the best time of the day to have carbs. Especially, if you are working out. Make sure you are eating healthy carbs and good Proteins to get your day going.

  1. veggie omlete
  2. protein pancakes
  3. yogurt with granola
  4. eggs w/ turkey bacon
  5. bananas (fruit) with oatmeal
  6. cherrios w/ almond milk (low fat & cal)

Carbs are only bad when it's ALL carbs (like cereal). But if you have good carbs in fibers etc it's fine.

My staple breakfast is:

1 packet natural instant oatmeal. Add 10g almond slivers or crushed walnuts. Add 10g dried fruit (or small portion of fresh fruit). (I use to add a tsp of brown sugar but now I enjoy the natural flavor and it reduces carbs alike).

If I'm super hungry, I go for 2 packets of oatmeal -or- I add a <100 cal strawberry greek yogurt

Another good choice is a larger portion of yogurt with granola

There's a few ways to make Protein pancakes. You can buy a mix like Mancakes, but that's a little pricey.

You can make them yourself as well. Here's the recipe I like: http://www.food.com/...-pancakes-43072

I usually just use two eggs instead of the whites since I'm a big fan of eggs as whole, nutritious foods. I find half a serving is plenty to fill me up. These freeze well too--it's great to have a stash to pull out of the freezer on mornings I don't feel like cooking. Just microwave for about 30 seconds, check them, and add a bit more time if necessary.

As for toppings, you can go a couple of routes. There's always sugar free syrup. I use the Smuckers Breakfast syrup. It's about 8 calories for 2 T, which I find is more than enough, especially if I put it on the side and dip. The other thing I like to do is mash a few strawberries, and maybe a bit of sweetener. The mashed strawberries make a nice sauce for the pancakes and also offer up some good Fiber and Vitamin C.

Hi there, you might want to check out buckwheat if you like hot "cereal" (it is technically not a grain though it seems like one, it's actually a berry!) -- and it's a complete Protein. Also quinoa, though I haven't found a way that I really like it, it is worth exploring for its protein content,a high Fiber, etc. I am prebrand but collecting ideas -- thanks for putting this thread out there!

Try some of the recipes on this website. Its pretty good.

Also mix up Protein shakes in the morning too. I make all types of flavors from spiced pumpkin, to cherry chocolate. Its awesome and almost a treat.

This has become my favorite and I sometimes eat it for dinner. I spray a little Pam in a small skillet and cook some liquid egg whites with a pinch of salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. When it's almost done I add in some chopped up turkey lunchmeat (deli style) and add a pinch of shredded cheese.

I don't always have time to cook breakfast but have plenty of time to eat once I get to work so this morning I sprayed Pam in a bowl and added about 1/3 cup of egg whites with the seasonings and microwaved it for 1 minute. I then put some lunchmeat on top followed by a slice of reduced fat cheese. I popped it into a container and the cheese was melted and it was still warm when I got to work.

I'm jealous of everyone who can eat eggs!! I stopped being able to eat them during my first year. I have one of 2 things for breakfast: blended Protein Shake with spinach, Protein Powder, almond milk, berries, 1/2 banana OR a greek yogurt, honey, frozen berry, granola parfait.

Quinoa is great with steamed broccoli or asparagus. Add some low fat cheese to it all delicious!!!

Good morning guys!

I was wondering if I could eat actual food for breakfast instead of having a Protein Shake?

My doctor says no food in the mornings..not sure if anyone else has been told this?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
