Get the gastric bypass "now"?!! I just had my second fill and that's the only time I really felt ANY restriction, aside from right after surgery. How much are you currently eating?

It's hard to see/understand it now...being you're only 3 months out from surgery, but my experience is that it took a LONG time to get to a level of adjustment to where my band was working correctly for me. Some find that magic spot sooner, and some it takes a while....quite a while! But once you do, it really works!! Hang in there, do your best at dieting until you reach that level/green zone. Then....enjoy your new life. Best wishes...and NEVER, ever give up! :)

You really need to give the band a chance to work. Forcing yourself on another surgery suggests to me you aren't ready to make that committment to losing weight you just want the fat to fall off. The lapband is a tool not a magical fat reducer overnught. Sometimes it takes 6 months to a year to drop alot of weight. Did you get the lapband because your fam I ly told you to? If not then trust the band to work. Another surgery so soon will not only affect your body adversly but also give you false hope. Give the band a chance. Exercise diet cirrectly and keep coming back to hear what the veterans say. Since 8-8-13 til today I have lost inly 15 lbs. Sure I'm discouraged but have my 1st fill in 3 weeks. Don't get a bypass just because someone else says to.

Be safe...stay strong...God Bless

If you decide it won't work it probably won't cuz you won't be as committed. Curious, are you journaling? If not you should be. I have a friend who is having problems and she started journaling and realized she wasn't counting everything. My Vitamins are 50 calories and I still count them

I agree that you need to give it time. I was banded on 8/9/13 and just got my first fill today. I have lost in the last month a total of 25lb, but I had to have a lot of self control because at times I felt so hungry, but realized it was just in my head and I really didn't need to eat rite then. When you are use to eating a lot as we did before surgery it's gonna be hard to change those habits, so just be strong, take it one day at a time and you will start to lose.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
