girlgetsLB 34 Posted September 1, 2013 I've lost about 20 lbs since surgery on July 24th. But the last 2 to 2 1/2 weeks I've lost nothing. I track calories and keep them under 1200. I had my first fill last week and to be honest I didn't notice much of a difference. Anyone go through something like this? Scared to be hitting a block this soon since I still have 100 to lose :/
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted September 1, 2013 20 pounds in a little over a month is a lot of weight to lose. Your body needs to recover and stabilize not only from the rapid weight loss but from surgery itself. Weeks, even months, with no loss is a normal part of the weight loss process. Just keep doing what you're doing and the weight will start coming off again. Remember, you didn't gain the weight overnight and it won't be gone overnight, either. Best wishes. 9 ☠carolinagirl☠, 2muchfun, Bandista and 6 others reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted September 1, 2013 It took me 3 fills to start to feel satiety/restriction. It may take you less or more. Your band won't work it's magic until it's properly adjusted. Till then, it's just another diet. 6 I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡, KAATNS, girlgetsLB and 3 others reacted to this
I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡ 804 Posted September 1, 2013 I've had the same problem, girlgetsLB. My surgery was August 7th and I lost 21 pounds in 20 days. Then the scale didn't change for a couple weeks, so I stopped obsessively weighing and just continued my routine. I noticed my clothes are still getting bigger and it seems I'm losing inches too. I have my first fill in a little less than 3 weeks, and it's going to be 5 cc's my surgeon said. So with that, I hope to start moving the scales in the right direction. Best wishes 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and 2muchfun reacted to this
Bandista 7,466 Posted September 1, 2013 It's hard not to get obsessed with the number on the scale but my guess is your body is doing this just right -- lose, level off, lose. Maybe pick another number to work on right now -- like beating current treadmill time or adding one more time around the block, something like that? I think you're doing great -- congratulations on the 20! 3 I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡, KAATNS and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Sharpie 3,306 Posted September 1, 2013 Yep 20lbs is great... I agree with obsessing over the scale.. stay off the scale a few days at least . start tracking what you eat on the myfitnesspal or some other app... it really does help. I never liked tracking my food but I do it now to keep me on track.. I only lose 1-2 lbs a week but that is okay... 3 ☠carolinagirl☠, KAATNS and Bandista reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted September 1, 2013 if you are continuing to lose inches (clothes getting too big), then you are losing irregardless of what the scale says......dont let the scale define you.....better health aka inches lost, moving better, feeling better..........see how upset you are??? so not worth it....if you eat great, exercise and live the band life, then you are doing great........give yourself a break 2 Bandista and 2muchfun reacted to this
