I wouldn't buy the he's batting for the other side. Know who comes up with that crap about men that look like that? The jealous men that don't look like that.

By the way, I scrolled down to get a glimpse of the bottom of the Vin picture...but all I got was other posts.

I've gotten 2 emails wanting the full pic. :) Sadly I don't have it, that's as racey as it gets, and that's how the original article was published.

I didn't mean to start "something" with the battin' for the other side comment. I just heard it is all. Guess the guy who told me that was one of the jealous ones who needed to boost his own ego. When he told me, he pointed out that it's kind of curious that Vin never seems to have a female counterpart and it never occurred to me to verify his allegation. :)

Yeah...too bad for Vin that's exactly what the Bandster boys look like in the shower! Yup...the spittin' image. The pictures are on the way...in about 75 pounds!

I think if you look at that picture close enough you can see his ego popping out underneath his pecs :)

-Your humble bandster,

Jon

Was the 'velvet shirt/leather pants' pic on this thread? Sheeeooot! That picture appeals to every vain and shallow impulse I own. Luck for me I am over the 'bad boy' thing.

Sorry Jack, you are just tooo bad for me. Chiropractors are only in it to grope strangers, you know it, I know it. Maybe I would be better off winking at DeLarla's ex. Wha'd'ya say SupperDaddy? *wink*

Besides Jack, Poodles has already marked her territory.

*Blowing kisses goodbye*

Promise I won't Pee on you Jack!! Poodles do to mark their territory, but this one does it with kisses!:kiss2: (But, well, uhum, I am married, so we won't go there...offline anyway!:kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2::kiss2:)

I was actually engaged to a chiropractor, once upon a time, while we were in college. Most people don't realize that Chiropractors catch a lot of crap most of the time. Insurance companies, other doctors, and people at large don't understand what goes into becoming a Chiropractor, so they get a ton of underserved comments. And sometimes they are not looked upon as funny. Being the butt of a joke gets old. Trust me I know, I am a public school teacher.

I hesitated to jump in on this, because my Jack truly is upset, but I don't think malice was the intention.

Besides this is my Ode to Jack thread. Don't upset my Jackie Baby here!

I am so sorry Jack! I had no idea that what I was saying would come off as hurtful. Yes, I was trying to be funny but I will stop. Seriously! All done.

I have no Idea where number 2 came from. Did it really sound that bad? Gosh, I am ready to cry.

You were right not to ignore it if I hurt you that deeply and for that I am truly sorry.

Wish I had come to this thread earlier because the only thing I can think of that is worse than what you heard, was for me to delay in setting things right.

I think of you only as an intelligent and thoughtful bandster. I was, and still am, unaware of any specific ethnicity involved and have MUCH respect for Chiropractors as their hard work, vast training, expertise and dedication reduce the need for painful, expensive, and ongoing chemical treatment by a General Practitioner.

Thank You! I was so busy patting myself on the back and laughing at my own jokes that I was unaware I was being crass an hurtful. I really needed to hear this.

I am leaving this thread now, bye guys, have fun.

I'll have you know that Delarla called me a sexy boyfriend...and some nice lady here winked at me online yesterday. Your harem is in jeopardy of full-scale mutiny! Hah! Big Paul....go eat something starchy! Your overachieving a little too close to me (way to go, man!) BTW, I just dipped toward 55 pounds this week. I will be below 280 for the first time in YEARS this weekend if I stay with it. NSV for SuperDaddy!

Have a great day, gang!

Jon

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
