50 lbs ago.. I couldn't have enjoyed my vacation

Recommended Posts

Just got back from my week long vacation in Colorado at the Dude Ranch... First I will say that 50 lbs ago I could not have done what I just did last week... I rode horses all day up and down the mountains.. We drove cattle, camped overnight in the mountains after riding 4 hours to get to the "cow camp"... The whole experience was very physical... walking to the barn each day was something I could not have done 50 lbs ago... I did gain a few lbs because the food was awsome but I didn't pig out.. They have everything to eat you would want... fruit, salads, breads, lots of beef (western) the best... fish and wonderful desserts.. I did not over indulge but I wasn't deprived.. I have lost the lbs I gained in just a few days.. (never could have done that before the band)....

Great non-scale victory -- Being able to vacation comfortably, to be physical -- yippee! Thanks for the inspiration, much needed as I wait, wait, wait for a surgery date. Can't wait for feeling better in my body. I want that so much. Best wishes!

That sounds so amazing!! That is how I want to feel!! I'm scheduled for surgery Oct 7 and I feel your joy in your words. I would like to know is it easy to gain weight back? If you can gain does that mean you need a fill? I read a lot about weight gain and I'm just trying to still to figure it all out. Thanks so much!! Keep up that great work you inspire me!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
